An invitation has been extended
to the Mitchell -club to attend the
May 2 meeting, in the agricultural
office board room at eight o'clock.

Clifford Epps gave a very inter-
esting talk on flowers and shrubs,.
and showed slides of his trip to
Florida. Mrs. John Aklington won
the mystery prize. A vote of
thanks wag given by Mrs. J. Mid-
dleton to' Mr. Epps and lunch was
served by the committee.

Golden Wedding
Day Marked.

A surprise party For Mr. and
Mrs. Eruce Medd was held at the,
home .of their son-in-law, and
daughter, Mr. and. Mrs, William
Livingston) RR 2, Seaforth, on
Sunday, April 12. Dinner was sere
red to the children, grandchildren,
great-grandehildren and other rel-
atives,
During the afternoon pictures of
the four generations were taken.
Then Mr, and Mrs. Medd were pro-
rented with chrome kitchen chairs
by the family and a coffee table by
the other relatives present,
Mr. and Mrs. Medd were mar-
ried at the home of the bride's
parents, the late Mr. and Mrs.
Alexander Leitch, Hallett Town-.
ship, on April 18, 1906, They have
t w o daughters, Mrs. Edmund.
(Olive). Godkie and MiS. William
(Ida) Livingstorer. also eight
grandchildren, and two great
grand-children, (Nancy Alexandee

On Tuesday 'evening, April 12,
the Ontario Street Church Girls'
Club held their regular meeting in
the church.parlour, with Mrs. Or-
ville Stanley presiding. The meet-
ing opened with the singing of a
hymn, folloWed by the Lord's
Prayer in unison,
Mrs. Stewart Schoenhals gave,
an explanation of the Evangelistic
Mission. Miss Jane Batkin fav-
oured with a piano solo,
It- was voted that $10 be given
to the Cancer Society. Canvassers
were appointed for the T.B. Cam-
paign.
Miss Evelyn Hall, guest speaker
for the evening gave a review of
the book "Gully Farm," by Mary
Rienstran. Mrs. C. Pratt and Mrs.
McKnight sang a duet, A Vote of
thanks was extended to Miss Hall
by Miss Mary Nott, seconded by
Mrs. Del Slavin. The meeting
closed with the Mizpah benedic-
tion, Lunch was served by mem-
bers of group one.

before he moved to Manitoba and
whose family live in and Around

Mrs. Carter came to Manitoba
and Strethelair in ISK and was
married in 1892 Mr, .and Mrs,
Carter farmed three miles north
east of Strathelair for ton years
when they moved to a farm near
Lavinia, Manitoba, Seven yeMS
latter they moved to Strathelair
where they lived until Mr, Carter's'
death and where Mrs. Carter has
continued to live since.

Mrs. Carter is enjoying good
health, attends church services
regularly and social functions, in
the village, Her.hu5band, the late
John Carter- died' in 1923.
Mrs. Carter whose maiden name
was Annie M. Diehl, was born on
her father's farm on the 4th con-
cession of Stanley Township, This
farm 'is in the beautiful Bayfield
River valley, An interesting co-
incidence here is' the fact that Mrs

Travelling Apron
The regular monthly meeting of
Girls' Club of St. Andrew's Pres-
byterian Church met Tuesday ev-
ening, April 10, with Mrs. Howard
Cowan president conducting the
business.
Plans were made to start a trav-
elling apron throughout the club
for financial purposes and Miss
Anne Radley, social convener out-
lined plans to the members for a
banquet the club will cater to in
May.
The devotional period was taken
by Mrs. Clarence Neilans, reading
the Scripture and Mrs. Eric Sims
lead in prayer.
The secretary's report by Mrs.
Frank Cook was adopted and the
treasurer's report by Mrs. Allan
