KINCARDINE 8 CLINTON 6
With the entire team completely
off form, Clinton Colts went down
to a stunning 8-6 defeat at the
hands of Kincardine on Monday
night. It was serious loss as it
puts the local club in the position
of having to win on Wednesday
night or be eliminated from fur-
ther play.
Colts dominated' the play for

most of the game but Emmerton
in the. Kincardine twine was in top
form and that, combined with an
extra share Of luck was just too
much for the Clinton team. Some
sort of record must have been
broken in the game as, the Colts
hit the goal post more times than'
could be counted. Several times
the puck bounced off Ithe post two
or three times on the same play.
Kincardine scored the first goal
in the first minute of the game
when Bell's shot from just outside
the red line glanced off Tom Col-
quhoun's' shoulder into the top
corner of the net. Clinton came
back with two goals to go in front,
only to have the northern team
click for three and take the lead
that they never relinquished. Colts
narrowed, the margin in the sec-
ond, outscoring the home team
2-1, but in the last period Kin-
cardine rallied for the win.

Pupil Instruction
Preparations for the opening of
Clinton's dial telephone exchange
--the first in Hureh County.-are
becoming more intense this week
as the date for the changeover
draws closer,
At about 2 am. on Sunday,
April 15, the present manual ex-
change will be cut out of service
and the dial system will be plac-
ed in operation.
Meanwhile, an intensive cam-
paign has been launched to ac-
quaint telephone users with use of
the dial system so that the change-
over can be carried out smoothly,
School children are among the
first to receive instruction in the
use of the dial telephone. Bell
personnel started this week to
visit all schools in the exchange
area with a dial demonstration
kit which they used to explain
the use of the dial. A similar pro-
gram will be carried out in the
high school in April.
Bell traffic department employ-
ees will call homes and offices dur-
ing the weeks prior, to the change-
over to make certain that all have
mastered the technique of using
the dial. Each person called will
be asked to place a test call, and
the various service. codes will be
explained to him.
A dial demonstration display
will be set up in Beattie's Furnit-
ure Store, on Albert Street, on
April 5. It will include two "live
dial telephones with which Bell
girls will explain the workings of
dial service to persons visiting the
premises.
