The Clinton Busy Bees, which ie
a girls homemaking club formed

of the Clinton Women's Institute,
'has had two meetings, and is bus-,
ly at Work on 'the project, "What
Shall I wear?", Leaders are Mrs.
Betkin and Mrs.. N, Tyndall.
An election of officers was held
at the first meeting held at the
.horne of Mrs. M, Bet,kin, and Pat
Pegg was elected president; vice,
preeident is Ann 'Trott and secre-
tary is .Christine *Bridle. Other
members of the club are Beverley
Beattie and Ruth Batkin.
At the meetings which will be
`held alternately at .the home of
the leaders, the girls tried out dif-
ferent shades of material to find
suitable ones, and discussed the
suitability of lines and materials
for different types of figures. Each
girl has blouse material with
which to work, and have begun
on their record boOks,

• Holds Meeting
At Mrs. E. Epps
The January meeting of the
Clintonian Club was held at the
home of the president, Mrs. E.
Epps.
The meeting opened with Mrs.
E, Epps in the chair. The "House-
wife's Creed," The Lord's Prayer
and 23rd psalm were repeated.
Roll call was answered by 18 ▪ members. It was decided to hold
a card party at the next meeting,
each member to pay 25 cents for
game and lunch. • •
The program was in charge of
Mrs. J. Smith and Mrs. T. O'Con-
nel, Readings were givers by Mrs.
T. Leppington and Mrs. Robert-
son. A contest was enjoyed and
prizes won by Mrs. W. Calclough.
Mystery prize donated by Mrs. T.
Leppingten was won by Mrs. Rob-
ertson.- Meeting closed with, ben-
ediction. Cards and refreshments
were enjoyed. The next meeting
will be at Mrs. Epps' home on
Weelneiday, February 8.
Last year over two million pam-
phlets explaining the nature of
cancer and the importance- of
early diagnosis were distributed
by the Canadian Cancer Society.

Friendship Night will be held.

ding area are .being invited, and
Germania Lodge, Waterloo, will be on hand to' confer the Third De-
gree, It is expected that. several
Grand Lodge Officers will also be
present.
Members are asked to remember
these dates and watch for further
particulars as the time comes
closer.

The January meeting of the
Woman's Missionary Society of
Wesley-Willis United Church met
in the church parlor, January 12,
at 2.30, p.m. with 25 ladies pres-
ent. Mrs. Charles Nelson presid-
ed and opened the meeting with
special greetings for the New
Year, followed by a New Year's
hymn and prayer.
The business part of the meet-
ing consisted of monthly and an-
nual reports and showed the aux-
iliary to have had a good year in
1955. Over $700 was raised dur-
ing the past year.
It was decided to invite the
Children's Aid Society Regional
Meeting to Wesley-Willis Church
for their meeting in May. Fur-
ther notice of this later. This
will be an interdenominational
meeting and the town of -Clinton
citizens are invited to attend.
Mrs. Shepherd had charge of
the study period and chose four
ladies from Mrs. Lorne Jervis'
group to represent different In-
dian Tribes and they told them.
the church had done for them.
Mrs. Wilfred Jervis, Mrs. An-
drews, Miss Esther Jamieson and
Miss M. A. Stone took part in
this.
The hymn "Rise Up, 0 Men of
God" closed the meeting and re-
freshments were served.
The February meeting will take
the form of a birthday party and
will,be in charge of Miss B. Mc-
Robert's group.

Roman Catholic Church, Clinton, last Saturday morning, in a
doublering ceremony conducted by Rev. J. W. P. Graham, The
bride is Marjorie Darlene, daughter of Mrs. Doris Cartwright,
Clinton, and her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew
Hu.sty, until recently of Clinton. The young couple are living in
Walsingham, near Delhi, where the groom operates a grocery

The annual reports were read and
showed a very successful year.

stalled the new officers: president,

correspondent, Mrs. Ray Gibbon;

The Ontario Street United
Church Girls Club held their first
meeting of the year in the church
parlor on Thursday, January 12,
with Mrs. Brook Olde, presiding.
The meeting opened with the
singing of a hymn, followed by
"-The Lord's Prayer" In unison.
Rev, A. Glen Eagle conducted the
installation of officers for the
coming year. Mrs. John Levis
read from the Scripture. Mrs.
Carman McPherson gave a very
interesting reading from one of
Peter Marshall's sermons, "The
Saint of the Rank and File," from
the book "Miss Jones Meets the
Master." Mrs. Kenneth Pickett
led in prayer and the devotional
period closed with a hymin.
Miss Lucill Grant read the min-
utes from the last meeting. Miss
Emma Plumsteel, treasurer, and
members of the various commit-
tees presented their.: annual ree
ports. The new president Mrs.
Orville Stanley relieved Mrs. Brock
Olde of the presidency.
It was proposed to have a tea
towel shower at the next meeting,
each member will please bring a
tea towel. A pot luck supper will
be held at the February meeting,
and all are asked to bring a
Mrs, M. McAdam, Mrs, R. Camp- friend. It was decided to hold a
bell, Mrs. W. N. Counter. bake Sale sometime in March ,
Plans and preparations were
made for the Annual Blossom Tea
to be held in May. Next meeting
Wednesday, January 25.

Girls'. Club At
Regular Meeting
The regular monthly meeting of
the Girls' Club of St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church was held
January 10, in the Sueday School
roam, with the newly appointed
president Mrs. Lillian Cowan pre-
siding.
The meeting opened with the
singing of a hymn. Scripture was,
read by Mrs. Florence Rathbun,
followed by prayer by Mrs. Lane,
Miss Ann, Shaddock, secretary,
read the minutes and the yearly
report. The treasurer's yearly re-
port was given by Mrs. Verna
Morgan. These offices were turn-
ed over to the incoming 'secretary,
Mrs. Betty Graham and to Mrs,
Ena Cook, the new treasurer.
Roll call was answered by guess-
ing the number of beans in a, jar
and was correctly estimated by
Mrs. Jean 'Jacob. Mrs. Elva Mut-
ch gave several interesting read-
ings.
Arrangements were made fo?
the annual Valentine Tea which
is to be held in the church on Feb-
ruary 11. An auction sale of foods
was held among the members.
The meeting closed with a hymn
and the Mizpali benediction.
Lunch was served by the haste
cases Mrs. B. Murray, Mrs. Lillian
Cowan, Miss Mabel Harvey and
Miss Ann Shaddock,
