held •Tuesday evening, December
20 In spite of Arctic weather
conditions, there was a good at-
tenclanee. Robert Welsh acted as
chairman.
The -PrOgram opened with.
welcome chorus by grades I and
followed by "Chri,stnias in Kil-
lArneY" and many old familiar
hymns and carols; Catherine Wel-
sh was accompanist for these
numbers. Lois Rathwell favored
with a lovely piano solo. *
A Dialogue-"An Official' Visit"
of the scheol board to the assem-
bled pupils starred Grace Flewitt
as the teacher, This was follow-
ed by the lively "Big-a-jig dance.
A highlight of the evening's
entertainment was 'a lovely ..drill
"Alice Blue Gown," with a beaut-
ifully garlanded arbor decked with,
crepe paper flowers and evergreen
with Catherine Welsh as the chief
soloist' Then followed a dialogue
"The Rest Room," which was a
riot and 'starred. Gary Mote strare
ded in no man's land. . -
The most ambitious part of the
program was a 'two ,act Cantata,
"The Sit Down Strike at Santa-
vile," with. David Welsh .as Santa
and Elaine Rathwell as Mrs. San--
ta, David's.singing of "I Like my
HoMe Just as It. Is" deserves
special mention; also the "Christ-
mas Mail MUst Go", with John
Streicher as soloist. • Many pupils
took solo parts admirably, i.e.
Bonnie Stirling, Margaret Semple,
Grace - Flewitt, Elva .Carter, Judy
-M. Block, Lois Rathwell
etc. Between acts Elain Rath-
well - favored with a piano solo.
Rousing singing of • "Jingle
Bells" brought the program to an
end and heralded Santa's ap-
proach. Robert Welsh as chair-
man moved a hearty vote - of
thanks to the teacher, Mrs. Bruce
McClinchey, to the music direct-
or Mrs. Emmerson Rodger and to
the pupils, for their splendid ef-
forts.
Particularly impressive were
the bright shining faces of the
children, the - new Canadians and
by the zest with. which they gave
their all to their parts.
The timely arrival of Santa and
his distribution of the gifts from
the well-laden tree to all the
school children and pre-school
children was a delight to see.

FEED CHICK STARTENA
F'uriricr Chick Startena is a COM-
PLETE feed, fed dry, without addi-
tions. It comes in two forms —
mash and Checker-Etts, (We espec-
ially recommend Checker-Etts, varying
,from mash to cracked grain Size. They
.,have given exceptionally good results.)
Keep Startena in front of chicks all
the time, At. first fill feeders full.
After chicks get used to finding
feeders, fill only two-thirds,
Amount needed: 2 lbs. per chick , then
ready for a Purina growing ration.
Disinfect their Drinking Water
Even the purest water quickly becomes contaminated'
and all chicks, tick or well, drink from the same
founts. Protect your chicks. Drop $ Chek-R-Tabs
into each gallon you give- them during their first 4
or 5 Weeks. It's cheap; handy and effective "life
