SS 6, opened Tuesday with the teacher, Mrs. C. Talbot in 'charge. Weekend visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Barker and family, King; Misses Anne Ostrom, Mar- garet McClymont and George Coleman, Toronto. The Watehnight service at Var- na United Church on New Year's Eve was well attended. The ser- vice closed with Charles Wesley's hymn which rightly belongs to the New Year, "Come let us anew our journey pursue, roll round with the year, and never stand still till the Master appear." The rink at Varna is being made ready for skating and it is hoped that weather conditions will be such that the young people will get plenty of recreation there this winter. Members of the Or- ange Lodge as formerly, are, in charge and are giving their time and services freely, During the Christmas holidays, W. T. McAsh and Robert Taylor took their Sunday School class of boys to the rink at Clinton for skating, On their return they were entertained at the home of Mr. Taylor, where a lunch was served by Mrs. Taylor assisted by Mrs, McAsh. The boys thorough- ly enjoyed the evening and are grateful to those who made it possible. o - PORTER'S -HILL The Woman's Association will meet lit the'hoine of Mrs. Alvir, Betties on Thursday, January 12.
