Edwin C. (Ted) Dunn, SO of Mr. and Mrs, Albert Dunn, RR
3, Bayfield, has returned from' the Ecumenical Student Confer-
ence on, the Christian World Mission, conducted December 27
through Janeery 1 on the Ohio University campus at Athens,
Ohio
The conference was attended by 3,500 student delegates from
400 colleges and Universities in North Anieriea.
Ted is in his second year of the four-year degree course,

Mrs, John Farquher, Albert
street Clinton, died suddenly from
a heart condition early Tuesday at
her home, in her 81st year, Born
in Clinton, she was the former
Sarah Louise Steep. Following
her marriage 54 years ago, she
and her husband farmed in Hullett
township near Clinton, retiring to
Clinton several years. ago. She
was a member of Clinton Baptist
Church.
Surviving besides her husband
are several nieces and nephews.
The body is at the Beattie funeral
home, Clinton, where eervice will
be held this afternoon, January 5,
at 2.00 o'clock, Rev, John Ost-
rom of Clinton Baptist Church
will officiate,
Pallbearers will be Wilfred
Glazier; Andrew Steep, Roy Con-
nell, Gladstone Grigg, Edward
Farquhar and John Stevens. Bur-
ial will be in Clinton cemetery:

Begins Busy
1956 Season
The first regular monthly meet-
ing of the Ontario Street Woman's
Association for 1956 was held
'Tuesday afternoon in the ladies'
parlor.
The devotionalg were taken by
Mrs. I. Merrill using as the topic,
"New Year's" and Miss Alva Wil-
tse sang a solo.
Rev. A. G. Eagle installed the
new executive and gave a short
inspirational address to the whole
association.
The report of the treasurer
showed a very satisfactory bank
balance. Several banquets ace
slated for the coming months, Sev•
era thank you notes /tor Christ--
mas cheer boxes were read and
more were given verbally.
Donations were to be given to
Five Oaks Camp and to help pay
postage on missionary bale sent
last month by the WAIS. Some
new cooking utensils for the kit-
chen and new folding tables for
the banquet. hall tire to be pur-
chased.
Over 30 calls te sick and shut-
ins were made during December;
32 boxes of Christmas cheer dis-
tributed and many cards sent.
Annual reports of standing cam-
mittees were read and accepted.
The program consisted of a piano
solo by Mrs. Charles Brown and
a short poem entitled "The New
Year," read by Miss Grant.
A bountiful picnic lunch served
by the social committee brought
the meeting to a close.
