To CDCI Addition
Tuckersmith Municipal Council
met for its final meeting of the
year in the Town Hall, Seaforth,
on Tuesday, December 15, 1953, at
2 p.m. with all members present
except D. A. Moffat, reeve, who
was absent on account of illness.
Acting reeve A, E. Crozier was

tosh; Clinton District Collegiate
Institute Board, George Falconer;
Scott Memorial Hospital Board,
William Cameron; truant officer,
John Earle.
Tenders for construction of the
Stanley Jackson drain were opened
from R, L. Beattie, $1,388; W. G.
Campbell, $1,700 and the tender
of R. L. Beattie was accepted at
tender price,
M. A. Reid of the Seaforth High
School Area Board waited on coun-
cil and requested them to pass a
by-law approving the issue of an
additional $25,000 to the original
estimate of $125,000 to provide for
the cost of building and furnishing
an addition to the present school.
The matter was tabled for the con-
sideration of the incoming 1954
council.
Grants of $10 and $25 were
made to the Brucefield Library
and the Seaforth Lions Club re-
spectively.
The treasurer was instructed to
prepare a statement of the receipts
and disbursements for the year for
the nomination meeting in the
same form as in previous years.
James Ddig was instructed to
order •14 inch and 12 inch tile
from E. Robinson as required for
the Stanley Jackson drain. The
treasurer was instructed to pay
provincial aid to drainagd on the
Moore and Watson drain.
The clerk was instructed to in-
sert notices in the local papers
advising that the township will
not be responsible for damage to
cars parked on roadsides, which

who are interested in forming a
figure skating club,
Interested parties met Wednes-
day afternoon at the home of Mrs.
J,. A. Addison to talk with Miss
Maureen Carthy, a professional
skating instructor, who is instruct-
ing at the Goderich skating club.
Four ladies -Mrs, J. A. Addison,
Mrs, L. G, Winter, Mrs. Royce
Macaulay and Mrs Ken 1VveRae—
met with some members of the
Lions executive over the weekend.
Wednesday afternoons and one
other period from four to six
o'clock will be made .available for
the figure skating club on the
arena ice. Membership fees in the
club as suggested at the meeting
will be: $5 for a family member-
ship and $2 for an individual mem-.
bership. Each skater will pay an
additional 25 -cent instruction fee
to the instructor, Individual pri-
vate lessons can be arranged if
anyone is interested.

Clinton's boys, it was felt that
something should be done for the
girls pf the town.. But, boys and
adults are urged to join the skat-
ing club, ".Dancing on ice" will
be part of the group instruction
and' an equal number of boys are
required ,for this.
