During the past weelz -they added two more victories to run their current skein to eight straight. However, the ninth win might be a hard one to get as the locals have to meet Milverton on their home ice on Saturday in the next game, Mil- verton, currently holding down second place in the group, have lost only one game that one at the hands of the Colts and they will be out to prove that they can turn the tables on Clinton. Clinton 12 Centralia, 3 Last Saturday evening the Colts after a slow start, had little trouble beating Centralia. Al May led the local team with four goals, turning in his best effort since he donned a Clinton uniform, This game was not as one-sided as the'score would indicate with the teams playing on even terms until the middle of the second per- iod when Clinton took command of the game and scored eight goals before Centralia could beat Nedi- ger. Penalties marred the game throughout, a total of 25 men were 41. thumbed off by referees Robert- son and McFadden including a 1.0 minute misconduct to Smith of Centralia, for expressing his views to the officials top vehemently, Clinton 14 Listowel. 6 After a slow start on Tuesday evening Clinton took the measure of the Listowel ]3eavers by the one- sided score of 14-6. Listowel put up a very tough game for a period and a half and at one stage of the second period were leading the locals 5.4. The Colt's positional play began, to pay off mid -way through this period and before the whistle ended play Clinton had a comfortable 9-6 lead. In the final frame Clinton completely dominat- ed the play scoring five time while r f holding the Beavers s o f score - sheet. the sheet. Murray Noble and McEwan paced the attack with four goals and two assists each, Al May and Don Strong counted twice, single goals going to Hanly, Carter. Wray with three goals topped the Beavers, followed by Crewson with two and Nickel with one. Early in the third period Mc - Ewan in a vain attempt to score crashed into the Listowel net and received a 11 stitch cut on his head, Clinton Lions Arena Schedule FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18- 3,00 - 4.00 p.m. -Clinton Public School Free Skating Period 8,15-10.00 p.m. -PUBLIC SKATING SATURDAY, DECEMBER 19-- 9,00-10.30 a.m.-FREE SKATING (Children 12 years and under) 1.00 -1.45 p.m Junior Farmer's Hockey Practice 2.15 - 4.00 p.m. -PUBLIC SKATING 8.15-10.00 p.m. -PUBLIC SKATING MONDAY, DECEMBER 21---, 3.00 - 4.00 p.m. -Clinton Public School Free Skating Period 4.30 - 5.30 p.m. -Kinsmen CIub Minor Hockey Practice 8.00 - 9.00 p.m. -Huron County Health Unit Skating Party TUESDAY, DECEMBER 22- 3.0-4.00 2- 3.00-4.00 p.m. -Clinton Public School Free Skating Period 4.30 - 5.30 p.m. -Kinsmen Club Minor Hockey Practice 8.30 p.m.--OHA HOCKEY-MITCI-IELL vs. CLINTON Colts Clinton. Both the Clinton teams, who are accuatomed to having trouble with their rivals from the Lakeshore town, showed definite improvement in their opening games. Coach Bun Smith has been spending a great deal of time with the two teams and his labours are starting to become quite evident, The Midgets had a tough fight on their hands all the way. They were forced to come from behind to secure a 6-6 tie although many of the spectators will state that Clinton had .a goal scored that was not allowed. Ron Hugill, Taylor and Ken Lee led the attack for Clinton with Ken Lee's third per- iod goals being the best one of the night. Lee broke in on God- dard and deked him well gut of position before he fired a shot that caught the top corner of the net. The line of Graham, Doak and Smith proved to be the most effective for Goderich. -- NOTICE - Private Hunters and Clubs ante JackRab its Amy Quantity --- Highest Price Write or Phone FRED T. LAC Palechuk, 19, RCAF Stat- ion, Clinton, was fined $50 and costs or seven days, when he plead guilty to driving while impaired, and $25 and cost or ten days, to a charge of failing to remain at the scene of an accident. Both off- ences took place on or about Dec- ember 2, Storm at Bayfield Cause of Short (By .our Bayfield Correspondent) The first real snowstorm to hit Bayfield this year really made it- self felt in this fishing village. The fog horn shreeked ite eerie warn- ing to mariners all day. The heavy snow coupled with the high winds on Monday evening brought down a telephone wire on Main Street, And about half -past ten o'clock, regular fireworks started on the hydro wires going into the home of Misses A. M, and E. J, Stirling, The flashes, as brilliant as light- ning, Iighted up the neighbourhood and attracted attention, Miss E. J. Stirling telephoned the Rural Hydro Office at Clinton and was informed that the wires must be crossed, Miss A, M. `Stirling accomplished a risky feat when, with the aid of a hoe, she leaned out the up- stairs window and separated the flaming wires. Then the street lights went out. A hydro repair* drew arrived later and put the linea in order.
