Ward Bolton:, St, Marys, the
Deputy District Governor for
Zone 3, paid his official visit to
Clinton Lions Club at their din-
ner meeting Tuesday evening in
St, Paul's Parish I-ia11. President
R. M. Aldis was in charge of the
meeting at which there was a
good attendance.
Other guests were Cliff Bald-
win, past president of St. Marys
Lions club, Lquis Martin and
Charles Sommerville, all of St.
Marys; two members of the
HEPC; and Norman Fry, man-
ager of Steadman's Clinton store.
Lion Bolton, who is a farmer
in Oxford County, congratulated
the club on its activities. He
Said, "You are an old establish-
ed club who take on a lot of pro-
jects". Mr. Bolton based his
talk on a poem written by John
Oxenhani.
During the meeting Lion 0,
Engelstad announced that the
club realized over $350 from their
recent peanut sales.
Lions Lorne Brown and Geo-
rge Laois reported on hockey
activities in Clinton this winter,
The intermediate hockey club
has hired a coach, and members
were told that he would also
help coach Clinton minor hockey
teams. The Lions have entered
both juvenile and midget teams
in the WOAA. Lion Brown. dis-
tributed books of tickets to each
Lion to sell, .•the proceeds going
to promote hockey in Clinton.

Tyndall Drain
Tenders for the construction of
the Tyndall drain were opened at
the November meeting of Tucker -
smith Municipal Council held No-
vember 3, in the town hall, Sea -
forth. That of William Lawrence,
Zurich, for $2,925 was accepted
and work will be commenced at
once, Other tenderers were George
Radford, Blyth, at $3,590 and R.
K. Clarke, Mitchell, at $3,618.
Discussion of the advisability of
passing a tile drainage by-law led
to planning a meeting on Decem-
ber 5, when interested ratepayers
are asked to attend. Receipt of
the report on the Layton drain
from W. S. Archibald, engineer,
was acknowledged, and reading of
same will be held on November 21,
at three o'clock.
Council granted the Canadian
National Institute for the Blind,
$50.
Rates of taxation for 1953 are
as follows: county, 10; township,
10,5; schools, general, 2.7; area, 6;
SS 3, 5.4; SS 10, 9.3; USS 1, 2;

following By -Law:

of the Corporationof the
Town of Clinton.
WHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of Clinton is
the owner of the former public school building on the South
side of Ontario Street in the said Town:

use as a Municipal Building;
NOW THEREFORE be It enacted by the Council of
the Corporation of the Town of Clinton as follows:
1. That the following question, namely,

ing the remaining available

annual election on Tuesday, the First day of December, A.D.
'1953; at the same time and places, and with the same Officers
as have been appointed for the annual general 'election.
2 That on the 30th day of November, A.D. 1953, at the
hour of 1.30 o'clock in the afternoon, the Mayor, or some
member of the Council appointed, for that purpose by resolu-
tion, shall attend at the Office of the Town Clerk of the
said Municipality, for the purpose of appointing, and, if re-
4nested so to do, shall appoint by writing, signed by him,
two persons to attend the final. summing up of the votes by
the Clerk, and one person to attend at each Polling PIaee on
behalf of the persons interested hi voting in the affirmative
on the said question, and a like number on bel»tlf of the
persons interested in voting in the negative on the said
question.
3. That oil the 1st day of December, A.D. 1953, at the
hour of 8.00 o'clock in the evening, at the Office of the
Town Clerk of the said 1Munieipality, the Cleric shall attend
and stun up the Votes given In the affirmative and in the
