Ron Carter Leads CDCI Redmen
To 1.5-5 Win Over Seaforth Footballers
(By Roni Waldron and
Ken Carter)
Did you see that long cav-
alcade of cars go through Clin-
ton. yesterday? Well, that wasn't
a wedding or such, but a
parade of the fans of the Clin-
ton Redmen heading for the
RCAF Station Clinton sports
field to see Clinton play a sud-
den death game with Seaforth.
The cars were all gaily dec-
orated with crepe paper and
Christmas tree decorations. (By
the way, this is the best show
of school spirit we have seen
so far. Keep it up -kids!)
Clinton's Bob Elliott kicked
off. Elliott played an excellent
game in the first quarter and
started Clinton on it's way by
scoring a rouge (1 point),
Ron Carter, also a star, made
a touchdownin this quarter.
Elliott came back again to con-
vert, making the score 7-0.
Clinton scored a safety -touch
before the quarted ended to
make the score 9-0.
The second quarter was high-
lighted by brilliant running
plays by Murray Colquhoun,
Dennis Weymouth, and John
Hartley, Ron Carter scored his
second touchdown of the after-
noon. This major was not con-
verted.
Ken Porter's interception of a
Seaforth pass and Carl Falcon-
er's recovery of a Seaforth
fumble, were the key defensive
plays of the quarter, Both these
plays turned back serious Sea -
forth threats and kept them off
the score -sheet.
Clinton's final point of the
game came early in the third
quarter when Ron Carter made
a rouge, This gave the Redmen
a 15-0 lead. Carter made some
excellent gains on the ground
and was .a standout all after-
noon.
Seaforth averted a shutout in
the final quarter when Sandy
McMillan went over for a touch-,
down which was not converted
and the final score read Clinton

Wingham 45-0
(By Roni Waldron) •
Clinton was the scene of the
Redmen's blast to victory over
Wingham on Thursday afternoon.
Wingham's kick-off was fumbled
and recovered by a Clinton play-
er, but Wingham regained the
ball after Clinton's third down,
Clinton's Ron Carter ran through
the whole Wingham team in a try
for a touchdown, but much to his
dismay he was finally tackled.
Fans cheered as quarterback
Bruce Ashdowne went over for a
touchdown. Since the convert was
unsuccessful, the score was, then
5-0 in favour of Clinton.
Ron Steepe's major chalked up
five more points for the Redmen
and Bob Elliott's convert raised
the score to 11.0. In the second
quarter Ron. Steepe went over
again and Bob Elliott made an-
other successful convert.
Howard Armstrong intercepted
a pass intended for Wingham, and
then after losing the ball, Clinton
later regained it in a kick intend-
ed for a Wingham player. After
Ron Steepe's first down for CIin-
ton, Ron Carter pushed through
and Bob Elliott made the convert,
bringing the score to 234 (Jim
Howes, who was injured last
week, supported his team from the
sidelines this game,)
At half time, three cheerleaders
from Wingham and five from Clin-
ton cheered their teams on. Clin-
ton cheerleaders were Edith Jones,
011ie Wilson, Patsy Scotchmer,
Muriel Howard and Kathleen Tur-
ner.
Wingham kicked off to Clinton
at the beginning of the second
half. Ron Steepe made another
touchdown and Bob Elliott made
the convert, score 29-0. Ron Car-
ter came back for another major,
with no convert, and the score
soared to 34-0. Bruce Ashdowne
tried a quarter -back sneak and
went over for his second touch-
down of the game. The convert
was successful and the score
climbed to 40-0. Alan Mitchell
made the last touchdown of the
game after a breathtaking run.
The final score 45-0.
Wonderful game, boys. Now on
to take Seaforth!

When the dust had settled last
Friday night, Teen Town had
chalked up another successful
night. The luckiest member last
week was Keith Youngblutt, who
figured in both the spot and elim-
ination dances. He teamed up
with Janis Morritt to win the spot,
and in the elimination, Betty Lou
Nediger was his lucky partner,
This week brings the Hallowe'en
hardtime dance, with dancing
from nine to twelve, to the music
of Harry Norris andhis band.
Special attraction will be the
beard -growing contest, the square
dancing and prizes for the hardest
dressed lady and gent.
This is the big event in Teen
Town's year, so let's see you all
out. And make sure that you're
dressed `hard -time";
