Congratulations!
Congratulations to Mrs. Robert
Cole, Hensall, who observed her
91st birthday last Thursday, at
the hone of her son and daughter-
in-law, Mr, and Mrs. William Cole,
Hensall. • Mrs, Cole is quite active,
and is a member of Hensall Unit-
ed Church. She has one son, Wil-
liam; one grandson, Alvin; one
great-grandson, Donald.
Congratulations, too, to Mrs, J.
W, Reid, Varna, who celebrated
her 90th birthday on Sunday, Oc-
tober 18. Mrs. Reid is the oldest
member of the family of the late
Mr. and Mrs, Gabriel Elliott. She
was born in Goderich Township
and after her marriage to the late
J. W. Reid, she resided on the
Bayfield Road, Stanley Township,
until she moved with her husband
to Varna. Mr. Reid passed away
in! 1930.
Mrs. Reid has two sons, Harvey,
a dentist in Toronto and Wilmer,
on the home farm. She has three
grandchildren and - two great
grandchildren. A family dinner
was held on October 11, in her
honour at the home of her son.
Present were Dr. and Mrs. Harvey
Reid and Miss Doreen, Toronto;
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Stephenson
and daughter, Varna. On her
birthday, Mrs. Harold Elliott and
Miss Edith Beatty served tea and
birthday cake to those who called,

Huron Teams In
Inter -Club Tests
There were 17 teams of two
members .each from the 4-H dubs
of Huron County, attending the
provincial inter -club competitions
held in `Guelph at the Ontario
Agricultural College last Friday,
October 16. Coaches for the teams
were G. W. Montgomery, agricul-
tural representative for Huron
County, and H. R. Butler, his as-
sistant. •
The Blyth Dairy Calf Club tied
for 20th place out of 56 teams
competing in the dairy project,
with a score of 838 out of a pos-
sible 1020. The Blyth-Belgrave
4-H Beef Calf Club was ninth a-
mong 41 teams in the beef cattle
project, with 869 points out of a
possible, 1,040; Bayfield 4-H club,
17th, 849 points; Seaforth club, 19,
849 points; Hay Township club,
20th, 840 points.
The Seaforth 4-H swine club
stood 5th out of 16 clubs in the
swine project, with 822 points out
of 1,040; Bayfield club was 12th,
with 788 points.
Goderich 4-H Forestry club was
8th out of 17 clubs in the forestry
project, with 821 points out of
1,040.
The Howick 4-H tractor club
stood third in its class out of 39
clubs, with a score of 808 out of a
possible 1,040. '

of the Eastern Star, held its meet-
ing in the chapter room of St.
Paul's Parish Hall, Rattenbury
Street East on Thursday, October
15, under the direction of the
chapter's Worthy Matron, Mrs,
Sidle McRae, and associate- pat-
ron, Everett Harris, in the absence
of the Worthy Patron, Victor Roy.
Two new members were initiat-
ed into the order, namely Mrs.
