McTaggart. Mrs. McTavish, Windsor and Mr, and Mrs. H, Cooke, Goderich were visitors with Mrs. F. W. Johnston during the past week. Mr. and Mrs, R. L. Carnegie, Carolyn and Bobby, and baby Richard, London, spent the week end with Mrs. W. S. R, Holmes. G. W, Nott, High St., left by car Saturday afternoon for West- ern Canada. He expects to be absent for about a month, on a buying tour. E. S. Livermore, O.C., London and Mrs. Green, Grand Bend, have been in town this week, owing to the illness of their mother. Mrs. Lillian Windwick, Toron- to, and Miss Vera Murch, Sarnia were guests over the weekend with Misses Hattie and Sybil Courtice. Visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Frank McEwan, Elwin Merrill Is vacationing this week in several centres in Eastern Ontario, Mr. and Mrs, W. Snow, Oakville, Spent the weekend with Mr, and Mrs. Frank Mc]wan. Mrs. Percy Town returned from a holiday in Toronto and Wim- blewood, Georgian Bay. Miss Edna Ball, London, was a weekend visitor with her parents Mr, and Mrs, Leslie Ball. Mrs, Aikenhead and Faye, St, Thomas, visited on the weekend with Mr. and Mrs, William Coch- rane. Miss "Kay" Snider is spending a few day's vacation with her parents Mr, and Mrs. John Snid- er, Albert Street. Mrs. George Phelan has re- turned home after two weeks visit with relatives in Chicago and Hamilton. Mrs. Howard Cox, Goderich Township, has returned to her home after a month's visit with friends in Hamilton. Anna Doreen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John McGuire, Clin- ton, became the bride of John Nogalo, Sault Ste. Marie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nogalo, also of Sault Ste. Marie. Rev. J. W. Graham, performed the ceremony, Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a floor length gown of white imported Italian silk, fashioned with a chapel train, •and petit -point sleeves. The nylon net yoke had a dropped scalloped hand -beaded neckline and Wind- sorine collar. The handbeaded motif was featured from the waist to the hemline, with an accordion pleated nylon tulle inset in the skirt front. Her halo -fashioned tulle headdress was trimmed with pearls and held her nylon floor- length veil. She carried an ivory prayer book covered by a mauve orchid with cascading satin ribb- onniers. Maid of honour was Miss Mary Dorothy McGuire, R,N., London, sinter of the bride, who wore a floor -length gown of golden -bron- ze Italian silk, with double nylon tulle rhinestone -studded skirt. Her stole and mittens were of match- ing bronze Julie. She wore a feath- ered headdress and eye veil of burnt -orange, and , a cornucopia filled with bronze and gold baby chrysanthemums completed the ensemble. They carried cornucopias of gold and white chrysanthe- mums. The flowergirls, Mary Jane Faulkner, RCAF Station, Clintn, and Bonnie Curtis, RCAF Station, Aylmer, were dressed identically in peacock blue taffeta, with over- skirts of nylon tulle and matching eyelet veils and mittens. They carried miniature cornucopias with gold and white chtysanthe- Mr. and Mrs. H. Sloman, Walk- er St., were in Detroit last week attending the funeral of Mrs. sloman's brother-in-law, William Jessop. Mr. and Mrs. George Nuttal Winnipeg, Man., Mr. and Mrs. W S. A good number of Clintonians attended Seaforth Fair on Fri- day last which was unfortunately marred by a terrific down pour of rain and hail. Mrs. D. J. John Cuninghame and James Croft, both of Owen Sound, visit- ed recently 'the former's parents in Bayfield where they joined several relatives and friends from far and near in a very pleasant weekend house -party. Mr. and Mrs. David Sours, who have been visiting the latter's sis- ters Mrs. G. Phelan, and Mrs. Robert McEwen, left for Strat- ford, where they will visit Mrs' H. Clark, before returning to their home in Toronto. Mrs. E. Geggie, 7 Cotswold Gardens, High Heaton, Newcastle on -Tyne, England, flew over on Monday to visit her sister Mrs. Beatrice Spiller, Albert St., Clin- ton. She will remain a few weeks before flying back. Mr. and Mrs. William Tebbutt, Goderich; Mr. and Mrs. John H. McEwen and Stuart McEwen, Alex McEwen and Mr, and Mrs, Stewart Middleton were guests at the home of Mrs. O. L. Paisley to a family dinner last Sunday. Gordon Cuninghame has re- turned from a few days with re- latives and friends in Toronto, having accompanied his daughter Mrs. Arthur Saunders and infant son that far on their return trip to Montreal. Mr. Saunders who has for a few days been attend- ing The Dow Chemical Convent- ion at The Guild of All Arts, Tor- onto, met his family there and continued the journey to their home in Montreal after a three weeks vacation spent in Bayfield with Mrs. Saunder's parents. The bride donned a mauve tweed suit, with mauve and grey accessories, and a grey kid jacket, with orchid corsage, for the two' week wedding trip to Northern Ontario. The young couple will live in Summerside, P,E.I. Prior to the Wedding Miss McGuire was honoured at a dinner and shower given by Mrs. Alf Crozier and Mrs. H. Bartliff, on September 14. Guests included Misses Gail Shearing, Marguerite Appelby, Jean Guetter, Dorothy McGuire, Mrs. William Gibbings, and Mrs. F. Wood. On September 18, a shower was given for her by Mrs. C. Pinnell, RCAF Station, Clinton, assisted by Mrs. Forrest, Mrs. Gattinger and Mrs. English. Others present were Mrs. Chambers, Mrs. J. Mc- Guire, Mrs. Manderson, Mrs. Hocking, Mrs. Smith and Dorothy McGuire. She was given a shower by Phy- llis Harris. Many lovely gifts were received from Mrs. K.
