This mouse feels he should up and say something really strong about the whole sit- uation. Our wrath is roused, our temperature is up, and as seine • one in the back shop is always saying, "We're on the war path now i" RI 0 Why all this furor? Why this shouting and screamin'? Well just have a look through the paper this week till you come to the words of the caterpillar. That's all we've got to say, Just have a look for them, that's all, fel! Right in this own newspaper, which we were beginning to feel could do no wrong, are printed the words of no other than a caterpillar!. And the worst part of all, is, that the worth can't spell! And he can't type either, Never, in our knowledge of the English Language, and of news- papers in particular have we seen such examples of bad grammar and spelling. CI o a Where does this caterpillar live? you ask, Right in that huge mansion of a place that calls itself CDC', up' on Prin- cess Street, in the middle of a residential d i s t r i c t, that's where, .He speaks of riding down bannisters, and avoiding the students .-there. Man, we'd avoid them, too, if they could- n't ouldn't give us a better example of English than that cater- pillar has picked up. We're considering a resignation to the .management. And we think'i that just after we get this bit off for this week's edition we're go- ing to sit back and see what will happen. It's a case of the cater- pillar, or me, and that's a fact. There isn't room fpr both of us in the pages of the News -Record for very long. Et o'© To get back out of the resi- dential area and into our more regular beat, which seems to have become the main street, we've got great news for all out-of-town folk, especially. Certainly the peo- ple who live in Clinton, will not find these bits news, but then, again they may find them readable. Us D CI This in a few words, has to do with the PUC building at the cor- ner of Albert and Rattenbury. Practically everyone in town feels a certainownership in that build- ing. Just the other day, we over- heard someone onthe street, who stopped and looked at the PUC office, and said, "Man, if I just had all the money I've paid to those folks, I'd have enough to buy the building." You see the people in Clinton do have a strong sense of ownership. They're proud 1111111Nil(11111111111111111111111111!1111111111111!101111111111I11111111111NIN111111111111111N111111111111!I11111111Illllllll!1111111111111111111111111!1!1111111!1!IIIVlii1111111111111111111111111111111111N!1!1111111111111111111!11111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111111NI1111BiNI111101111 N1111111N1111111111111111111111111NNI111111111111111111111111111111!111Ni1111111111MIIIIIIIII NliIINLN!II!1111,M1!11111!!1111111N!N ill International Harvester Male Chorus will present a MUSKAL CONCERT in the Ontaro street United Church Friday, Octo.er AIME 0n 3 0 i1li iq li 830 A MISS) ON: $1.00 Don't miss this opportunity to heat this outstanding Male Chorus, with EdwardLester) Conductor and Russell Payne, Xylophonist, assisting artist. They've chosen green paint, of two different shades, and the work of the painters has been progressing at great rate. We're especially glad they have chosen green, ,because that is our favourite colour. We've heard some talk of ask- ing the PUC folk to move their offices up to the old public school (or to the Municipal Building,, as it is now named, but we just can't see how the persuasion is going to work. Why with all that nice new paint around, and a building with a date stone on it so they can brag about how old it is, a nice handy place to the coffee shops and the cool library park fountain on hot summer days, why it's just going to be a bit of a job to pry the PUCers away from the office they have right now. It's going to look mighty. purty, fellows, and this mouse is all in favour, Now the other• wee bit of news we had this week for the folk outside of .Clinton, is the fact that there appears to be a new restaurant on the main corner. Now there's go- ing to be a mighty purty place, too. That one will make the eighth eating house in Clinton, as this mouse counts, which makes a place for each day of the week, and two for Sunday. ,That's a goodly num- ber for a town of 2,500 per- sons. Of course, the ©ninnitiated is apt to forget that we have another community just to the south of us that is almost as big as we are, but it doesn't take long for people after they come to Clinton to realize just what an asset the big RCAF Station Clinton is to our town. The Station has been termed one of Clinton's largest industries. Clinton is lucky in- deed to be so close to the site of it. Well, we've wandered far afield from the realm of being a mouse in the back shop, and we understand that there is a movement on foot to move us off editorial page this \week. That's why we felt that we could do a bit of wandering from our usual subjects. Thanks for bearing with us this long.
