Mrs. Ross Chap- man and Mrs. William Kyle were appointed delegates to the 39th annual London Area convention to be• held at Hotel London, .Octob- er 20 and 21. Current events in the form of a quiz were ..in charge of Mrs. W. Broadfoot. Members of Hensall Women's Institute will be guests of Kippen East Institute on Octob- er 12 in S.S. 10 Tuckersmith. The speaker for the evening will be Miss Jean Steckle, home econom- ist of the Women's Institute Branch, Toronto. Plans were made for a euchre and dance to be held in the town hall, Hensall. A solo was sung by Mrs. Fred Plaetzer and Mrs. Fred Toll con- tributed a reading, A contest conducted by the grandmothers was won by Mrs. Alvin Plunkett. A skit, "Grand- mother's Album" was presented by Mrs. Ed Davies and Mrs. Wes Bradnock, Mrs, A, Campbell did club swinging. A musical contest conducted by Mrs. Oliver Ander- son, was won by Mrs, Frank Nes- bit. Several prizes were awarded the grandmothers. The door priize was won by Mrs, Harry Arm- strong. Mrs. William Griese re- ceived the prize for the newest grandmother for the first time. Mrs. Harry Watson received the prize for the grandmother who has never worn glasses, Grandmothers with the most granddaughters was Mrs. Sanford Lawlor. Mrs. James Raithby was the grandmother who weighs the least and Mrs. A. Campbell won the prize for the shortest dress.
