At the summer home in Bay-
field of Mr, and Mrs. Ellwood

ed at the home of the bride's par-
ents an Saturday afternoon, Sep-
tember 19, when Gladys Marie
Blake, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
James E. Blake, Benmiller, be-
came the bride of Donald Cannon
Stewart, Langside, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert A. Stewart, Langsidi',
Rev. Mr. Williams performed the
ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father,
the bride wore a dress of white
satin with nylon net overskirt with
lace inserts. The bodice was lace
over satin, topped with a lace
bolero fashioned with long lily -
point sleeves. Her headdress was
pearl studded and held the three
quarter length veil in place. She
carried a bouquet of red roses.
Matron of honour was Mrs, Wil-
liam Seers, Benmiller, sister of the
bride, who was dressed in. yellow

Junior bridesmaid was Joyce
Blake, Benmiller, also a sister of
the bride who were pink taffeta
fashioned with a tiered skirt and
Shirred bodice. Her headdress was
of ink roses and white lily-of-the-
valhey, and her veil of pink nylon
net fell to her shoulders. She car-
ried a bouquet of pink roses.
Groomsman was Earl Crowston,
Langside. Organist was Lorna Al -
lin.
For the reception which followed
at the home of the bride's parents,
her mother received hi navy crepe
with navy accessories and a cor-
sage of red roses, assisted by the
groom's mother also in navy with
a corsage of red roses. Waitresses
were Lois Crowstpn, Yvonne Har-
ris, Dawn Snyder and Lorna Allin,
Guest attended from London, Lan -
side, Blyth, Clinton and Goderich,
For the wedding trip to northern
points, the bride wore navy .crepe
with navy accessories and carried
a pink shortie epat, She wore a
pink x'ose corsage. On their re-
turn the young couple will live at
Benmiller. -
Prior to the wedding the bride
was entertained at a shower held
at the home of Mrs. E, S. Snyder,
and also at a party held at the
Bell Telephone office in Clinton.
Mrs. Blake also entertained at a
trousseau tea in honour of her
daughter.
Montgomery
In a beautiful setting of ferns,
pink and white gladioli and white
burning tapers, at the United
Church, Benmiller, Miss Helen
Phyllis Montgomery, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs, Harold Montgomery,
Benmiller, was united in marriage
to Roy Mitchell, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Gordon Mitchell, Toronto.

ficiated at the double ring cere-
mony on Saturday afternoon, Sep-
tember 12,
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, was lovely in an im-
ported waltz-Iength gown of silver
white chantilly lace, the basque of
which was accented with a wide
pointed neckline scalloped at the
tulle edging, as were the brief
shirred ,sleeves. The skirt flared
from the waistline to the scalloped
tulle border and her fingertip veil
of illusion tulle and lace was held
by a tricorn embroidered with
pearls. She carried a cascade bou-
quet of pink carnations and ivy.
Mrs, William Salter, North Bay,
matron of honor, wore a pale blue
waltz -length gown of lace and taf-
feta with matching headdress and
gloves. She carried a crescent
bouquet of ivy and carnations tint-
ed blue to match her gown,
The junior bridesmaid, Miss
Carol Jay Allin, Benmiller, cousin
of the bride, also wore a waltz -
length gown of orchid net and lace,
with matching headdress, gloves
and crescent bouquet of carnations
tinted orchid with ivy.
Little Sharon Colleen Montgom-
ery, niece of the bride, was flower
girl, wearing an ankle -length gown
of white net and taffeta with
matching poke bonnet and gloves.
She carried a miniature nosegay
of pink, blue and orchid carna-
tions.
Archie McKinnon, 'Toronto, was
best man, and the ushers were
Harry Montgomery, Goderich, bro-
ther of the bride, and Donald Mit-
chell, Toronto, brother of the
groom.
Miss Sally McDonald, Kintail,
},resided at the organ and Mrs.
Carl Neumoff, Toronto, soloist,
sang "The Lord's Prayer" before
the service and "Because" during
the signing of the register.
For the reception held at the
home of the bride's parents, the
bride's mother wore a gown of
antique aqua silk shantung with
navy accessories and a corsage of
talisman roses. The groom's mo-
ther was gowned in navy crepe
with navy accessories and a talis-
man roses corsage.
For a wedding trip to the East-
ern United States and Quebec the
bride donned a dress of purple
and white flecked silk bengaline
with purple and white polka dot
shoes and bag, over which she
wore a topcoat and matching hat
of purple velvet, and a corsage of
pale pink carnations.
The couple will reside in Tor-
onto.

Church, Stratford, decorated with
pink and white gladioli, palms and
candelabra, was the scene of a late
summer wedding on Saturday af-
ternoon, September 19, when Grace
Evelyn MacDonald was united in
marriage to Hugh Macdonald. The
bride is a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J, Frank MacDonald, 156 Bir-
mingham St., Stratford, and for-
merly of Clinton, and the bride-
groom is the son of Mr, and Mrs.
John A. Macdonald, 224 William
St., Stratford. Rev, F. 3. Barr
officiated.The soloist, Donald Cur-
rie, Stratford, sang "The Wedding
Prayer" before the ceremony and
"Because" during the signing of
the register. • W. B. Rothwell,

of white Witchcraft Chantilly -
type lace over ivory taffeta. The
fitted bodice was styled with a
scalloped neckline of lace and long
lily -point sleeves, The skirt .feat-
ured a front panel of knife -pleated
taffeta, from which an overdress
of scalloped lace fell into .a full-
iength train. Her finger-tip veil
of French illusion was held by a
lace headdress and she carried a
cascade bouquet of pink and white
rosebuds and stephanotis.
Miss Barbara MacDonald, Strat-
ford, sister of the bride, was maid
of honour and Miss Eleanor Mac-
donald, Stratford, sister of the
groom and Mrs. Doreen Rowcliffe,
Clinton, were bridesmaids, Miss
Connie MacDonald, sister of the
bride, was junior bridesmaid, Their
waltz -length gowns were strapless
with a bertha• collar, The bodices
were made of embroidered nylon
organdy over taffeta, with gather-
ed skirts of nylon marquisette over
taffeta and headdresses of the
same material, The maid of hon-
our wore a rose shade dress and
the three bridesmaids wore tur-
quoise dresses. They all wore white
shoes and gloves, and carried nose-
gays of carnations and rosebuds.
William Hoy, Avonton, was
groomsman, Gordon Wake and
William Landers, both of Strat-
ford, ushered.
For the reception in the church
parlour, the bride's mother receiv-
ed wearing an afternoon dress of
pletinium blue crepe, with pink
and navy accessories and a corsage
of pale pink rosebuds. She was as-
sisted by the mother of the bride-
groom, who chose a purple crepe
dress with snatching accessories
and a corsage of yellow rosebuds.
For a wedding trip to Northern
Ontario, the bride donned a mauve
dress of ottoman cord, matching
coat, black accessories, and an or-
chid corsage. On their return, Mr.
and Mrs. Macdonald will reside at
168 Elizabeth St„ Stratford.
Guests were present from Flor-
ida; FIint, Mich.; Windsor, Wel-
land, Toronto, Guelph, London,
Beaverton, Clinton, Wingham, Lu -
can, Teeswater, Seaforth, Exeter,
and Stratford.
Prior to her marriage the bride
was feted on several occasions.
Miss Eleanor Macdonald was host-
ess at a miscellaneous shower at
her home, 224 William St., Strat-
ford. Mrs, Bob Rowcliffe and Miss
Jeanne Garon, Clinton, were joint
hostesses at a miscellaneous show-
er at the home of Mrs. George F.
Elliott, Clinton. Mrs. Rob Schimdt,
SebringvilIe, was also hostess at a
miscellaneous shower at her home.
Presentations were made to the
bride by the staff of the Royal
Bank of Canada, Stratford branch,
and to the groom by the HEPC
employees.
