New County Machine
Just Loves Its Work
Huron County's new machine
for photographing registry office
documents is swallowing office's
backlog of work so fast that
County Council was asked at last
week's sessions to consider rent-
ing its services to other counties.
Recently installed at a cost of
$6,000 this machine is expected to
go through the backlog of 2,000
registry documents gathered over
the past years in a matter of three
weeks.
The machine photographs reg-
istry documents that were for-
merly copied by hand.
Noting that the machine's ea-
pacity for work would leave it
with a lot of leisure time, Reeve
Elmer Graham, Ashfield, suggest-
ed that it might be employed to
take care of backlog in neighbor-
ing county registry offices.
BLUEWATER GUN CLUB GOES
AFTER HONEY -LOVING BEAR
Bear -hunting near Zurich, was
carried on last Wednesday as
members of the Bluewater Gun
Club tried to trap a bruno that
did an estimated $300 damage to
the apiary of the Habarer Broth-
ers during Tuesday night. Led by
Charles Meyers, London, who
came to Zurich to go on a fishing
trip but went bear hunting in-
stead, 20 members of the Blue-
water Club started out.
An area a mile and a half long
was blocked off, including a bush
that extended 200 rods by 100
rods, and the men, armed with
rifles, searched the area.
