For New Legion Hall
The Ladies' Auxiliary to the
Canadian Legion held Its June
meeting in the Legion Hall on
Monday evening, June 8 with Mrs,
S. E. Castle presiding. One min-
.ute of silence was observed ofter
the opening of the meeting in
memory of fallen comrades.

the Legion Hall with a beautifully
framed picture of Queen Elizabeth
II and the appreciation of all pres-
ent was expressed by president.
Mrs. Jervis submitted the sec-
retary's report and the treasurer's
statement was read by Mrs. Stan-
ley. The statement showed re-
ceipts for the month as $198.46,
and a balance of $22,97 in the
welfare account.
Mrs. Butler reported that sev-
eral sick and shut-in comrades had
been remembered with flowers.
Mrs. A. Inkley stated in her re-
port for the Coronation Day Booth
Committee, that $52.65 had been
made by this project.
Mrs. T. Leppington was appoint-
ed to supervise the checking room
for the month of June. The bingo
committee for the month will con-
sist of Mrs. M. McDonald, Mrs.
Managhan, Mrs. Denomme and
Mrs. Fairservice.
Members agreed to meet on
Wednesday and Thursday after-
noons and evenings to make the
new drapes for the windows of the
hall. The executive of the auxil-
iary was empowered to attend to
any business arising during the
months of July and August, as the
next meeting will not take place
until September.
The social committee, Mrs. L.
Moore, Mrs. Cornish, Mrs. Daw
and Mrs. Fitzsimons served re-
freshments at the close of the
business. .

lan Maxwell, both graduates of
MacDonald Hall, Guelph, are at-
tending the 50th anniversary . of
the founding of this well-known
college, on Saturday, June 13.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Zondervan and
family arrived last week from
Rotterdam,Rolla n.d, to join
friends in Clinton as prospective
new Canadians. Mr. Zondervan is
a brother-in-law of Rev. G. Hoy-
tema.
