You see, it is a part of;that aura of romance, good wishs, gifts, flowers and trousseau, that surrounds her .wedding — that treasury of memories she will cherish all her life. The party can be .quiet and simple but we try and add a touch of novelty, As the hostess, Yea set the time after making the date with the bride on some pretext. Add milk and colouring gradually, blending until soft and easy to spread, Frost loaf with. cheese. Chill thoroughly in e)edtric re- frigerator several hours if pos- sible. Garnish the loaf with/let- tuce,radish roses and carrot Burls. Cut in half inch slices with a very sharp knife. If desired,' use alter- nate slices of whole wheat and white bread. Other fillings may be used. Yield: 12 to 15 slices. Take 4t. Tip 1. Sandwiches may be made in ad- vance, provided you can wrap each lot in heavy wax paper and place in crisping pan or pliable plastic container then store in refrigerator. 2. Freshen sandwiches by placing a steaming hot cloth over them. 3. One large sandwich loaf cuts in- to 60 or 65 slices and the small one into 20 slices, 4. Funeral service was conducted in the Ball and Murch funeral home, High Street, Clinton, en Thursday, May 14, 1953, for Charles Josling, who passed away in Clinton on Tuesday, May 12, in his 93rd. year, Pall -bearers were six nephews; Wilfred and Hartley Managhan; Henry and William Pickett; Her- old and Charles Josling, Detroit. Flower -bearers were William and and Robert Managhan; Alec and Ross McMichael; Edward Far- quhar and Warbie Burton. ' Surviving besides his widow, his sons, daughters and his sister, are 13: grandchildren, Mrs W. T. Potter There passed away in Mitchell at the home of her daughter, on May 8, 1953, Bertha Jane Whit- tingham, beloved wife of William T, Potter, Lucknow, and daughter Wof thehittinghlateatnMr. and Mrs. ,Arthur M. Mr. .and Mrs. Potter had gone to Mitchell to spend a few days with their daughter and both con- tacted .the flu.. Mrs. Potter, who has not been strong since a ser- ious illness last summer, suffered complications which culminated in a severe stroke from which she never rallied. She passed away the next day without regaining consciousness. Mrs. Potter was of a lovable disposition and to know her was to love her. She will be sadly missed not ,only by her own im- mediate family, but by a large circle . 0 f friends. Those left' to mourn besides her husband, are two daughters: (Clara), Mrs. Charles Shaddick, Lucknow, and (Hazel), Mrs. Mal- colm MacFarlane, Mitchell; also an adopted son, D. E. Potter, Goderich. For a number of years, Mr. and Mrs. Potter lived on concession 4, Stanley Township, later moving to Goderich Township. For the past six years they have resided in Lucknow. The funeral, which was largely attended, was held from the Ball and Mutch funeral home, High Street, Clinton, on May 11. In- terment was in Clinton Cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. Mycklejohn, Lucknow, assisted by Rev. A. G. Eagle, Ontario Street United Church, Clinton, where de- ceased had been a member for many years before moving to Lucknow. The pallbearers were' cousins, Nelson, Bert and Howard Trewar- tha,. Lorne, Leslie and Wilfred Jervis. The flower -bearers were nephews, Elmer, Frank, Ray and -Joseph Potter, Edward Grigg, Lloyd Bond and 'Thomas Rathwell, The beantifui fiord -tributes show- ed the esteem in which the deceas-- ed was held. yrs, Alberta Simmons Mrs, Alberta Simmons. /1, wid- ow of John Simmons, died in the Ruston nursing home, Mitchell, on Saturday, May 16. Born in Usborne Township, she was the former -Alberta Vance, and was a 'resident of Hensall for 15 years, Surviving is one sister, Mrs,. Aivina Fraser, Hensall. Funeral service was held in the l3onthron funeral heme, I email, on Monday afternoon, May 18, by Rev. W.
