Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride wore a floor -length
gpvrrn of Chantilly lace and mar -
q *i ette.. The molded bodice of,
lace, was framed by a nylon net
ypl(e and Iong lily point sleeves,
ank the full net skirt had a front
panelof lace centred with accord-
ion pleated net,"The lace trimmed
illusion veil was. held to a lace
head' band, by orange blossoms in
pearl. She carried a cascade bou-
quet of white daisy 'mums and
stephanotis, centred with pink
sweetheart roses.
The maid of honour, Miss Eileen
Gliddon, sister of the bride, Hol-
mesville, wore a long gown of sea-
foam green, with snugly fitted

of net over taffeta, and a bouffant
skirt of net over taffeta. She wore
matching gloves and headdress of
mohair, and carried a cascade
bouquet of yellow 'mums.
The bridesmaids were Miss
Margaret Ellen Lawson, cousin of
the groom, Clinton, and Miss
Elisabeth Anne Grange, cousin of
the bride, Auburn. They were
dressed alike in waltz -length
gowns of daffodil yellow and lilac
taffeta over net. A bodice of taf-
feta was snugly fitted at the waist
with a petal top, over which was
worn a short bolero. The skirts

The organist, Miss Kathleen
Holmes, Goderich,accompanied
the soloist, Mrs, Gloria Gerig,
Oshawa, who sang "Oh Promise
Me" before the ceremony and
"Because" during the signing of
the register.
Groomsman was Frank Cook,
Clinton, and ushers were Nelson
Brown, Detroit, Mich,, and Robert
Gladding,

church parlogr, the bride's mother
were a dress of coral triple sheer
with navy and white accessories
and a corsage of Johanna Hill
roses. The groom's mother chose
a navy crepe dress with navy and
white accessories and wore a cor-
sage of Johanna Hill roses. As-
sisting at the reception Were Mis-
ses Grace Lobb, Blanch Zapfe,
Doreen McGuire and Reta Yeo.
Guests were present from Clin-
ton, Caledonia, London, Auburn,
Tillsonburg, Woodstock, Ingersoll,
Goderich, Toronto, Stratford, Osh-
awa, Hespeler and Detroit.
For the wedding trip to Ottawa
and northern points, the bride
wore a willow green dressmaker
suit with mauve accessories and a
topcoat of yellow wool, with re-
versible tweed side. She wore a
corsage of yellow roses and mauve
baby 'mums. Upon their return
the young couple plans to reside
in London.
The bride is a 1952 graduate of
St. Joseph's School of Nursing,
London, and the groom is a 1952
graduate of the University of To-
ronto in Civil Engineering. Prior
to the wedding the bride was
guest of honour several showers
given by classrriates in London at
the home of Mrs. Monica Cannon,
also by, Mrs. Wilfred Parent, Mrs.
Frank Cook,Mrs. Harold Lawson,
all of Clinton, and by Miss Grace
Lobb, Holmesville.
Robinson—Grigg
Wesley -Willis United Church,
Clinton, was the scene of a pretty
double -ring ceremony when the
Rev. H. C, Wilson united in mar-
riage Joyce Grace Grigg, only
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Glad-
stone Grigg, Clinton, and Richard
Charles Robinson, Port Hope, only
son of Mr. and Mrs. George A.
Robinson, Brockville.
The couple spoke their vows be-
fore a background of yellow glad-
ioli, fern, 'mums and candelabra.
The soloist, Francis Charles De-
nomme, was accompanied by Mrs.
M. R. Rennie, Seaforth.
Escorted by her father, the
bride wore a waltz -length gown of
white nylon net over satin vaith a
very full bouffant skirt, and a
fitted strapless bodice, topped by
a nylon net bolero trimmed with
chantilly Iace, fashioned with

Queen Anne collar, Her finger-tip
veil of French illusion and trim-
med with Chantilly lace, was held

in place by a coronet net o geed
pearls. She carried a bouquet or
Peerless red roses.
Attending the bride was her
sister-in-law, Mrs, Gordon Grigg,
as matron of honour, and Miss
Joan Robinson, Brockville, sister
of the groom, as bridesmaid.
They wore identically -styled
gowns of mauve nylon net and
lace over taffeta, matching head-
dresses and mittens and carried
colonial bouquets uets of yellow gloria
roses.
Gail Qarniss, London, made a
winsome little flower girl, dressed
in mauve nylon net over taffeta,
with floral headdress, She carried
a nosegay of yellow gloria rosea,
Donald Duncan, Brockville, was
groomsman, and ushers were Gor-
don Grigg, brother of the bride
and Leo Rouselle, Brockville.
-For the reception at Hote
Clinton, the bride's mother receiv-
ed in a navy crepe dress with
white accessories and corsage of
pink carnations. The groom's
mother assisted, wearing a dress
of rosewood crepe with black ac-
cessories and corsage of white
carnations.
The bride donned a grey flannel
suit with red and white acces-
sories, a red velvet shortie coat
and a corsage of red carnations
for the wedding trip to Eastern
Ontario. On their return, the
couple will make their home in
Port Hope, where the groomis
erhployed with the Hydro Electric
Power Commission of Ontario.
Emmerson—Garrett
A quiet wedding was solemnized
in St. Mark's Anglican Church,
Londbn, on May 7 at four o'clock
when Rev. W. Jones united in
marriage Doreen Garrett, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Garrett,
RR 2, Seaforth, and Eldred Cur-
rie Emmerson, youngest son of
Mrs. Marion Emmerson and the
late Sam Emmerson, Clinton.
For her wedding the bride chose
a pale pink nylon gown over taf-
feta with pink and white acces-
sories, her bridal bouquet was
deep red roses and forget-me-nots.
The attendants were Mr, and Mrs.
J. Siomme, London. Mrs. Siommer
was gowned in navy sheer with
white accessories, carrying a bou-
quet of white carnations.
Guests were received at the
home of the groom's sister and
brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. M
McLeod, .Mt. Pleasant Ave., Lon-
don, where a buffet luncheon was
served. The happy couple left
amid showers of confetti for a
honeymoon in Detroit. They are
residing in Clinton.
The groom's mother, Mrs. Em-
merson, Clinton, eighty-one years
young, attended the wedding.
Twenty-five guests were present
from Clinton, Kippen, and Sea -
forth.

visited her sister, Mrs. Stewart
Baird, over the weekend.

Following a lengthy illness, Mrs.
Grace Allen died at her home in
Port Dover on May 15, 1953, at
the age of 63.
A native of Bayfield, she was a
daughter of the late James Mac-
Donald and Sarah McNeil. Her
husband, Hugh Allen, was chief
engineer on a merchant marine
vessel and was lost at sea early
in the Second World War when
the ship was torpedoed.

member of Knox Presbyterian

Clinton, was lovely with apple
blossoms, lilac and other spring
flowers for the wedding of Edna
Muriel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
George Bayley, Clinton, and. Wil-
liam Evan Sims, l:Iensell, son of
Mr. and Mrs, William Sims, Hen -
sell, on Monday morning, May 18
Rev. A. Glen Eagle performed the
ceremony.
Given in marriage by her fath-
er, the bride wore a floor-iength
gown of lace, and nylon net. The
fitted bodice. had a yoke of nylon
net with a deep band of lace; the
sleeves were of lace, ending in lily
point sleeves; the full skirt was
of panels alternating nylon net
and lace. She carried a white
Bible and two purple orchids, and
wore pearls (the gift of the
groom), a lace cap and a fingertip
veil.
The maid of honour, Joyce Bay-
ley, sister of the bride, Clinton,
wore yellow nylon net over taf-
feta, with matching gloves and
headdress, and carried a bouquet
of yellow roses. ,
The bridesmaids were Miss Jane
Hartley and Miss Shirley Worden.
Each wore gowns styled similarly
to that of the matron of honour,
but in mauve and green respectiv-
ely, and each carried bouquets oi
yellow roses.
Ushers were Louis Dutot, broth-
er-in-law of the bride, and Walter
Bentley, brother-in-law of the
groom.
Groomsman was Donald Easton,
Exeter.
The organist, Mrs. Gertrude
Wendorf, accompanied the soloist,
Mrs. Jean 011son, who sang "0
Perfect Love" before the cere-
mony, and "Because" during the
signing of the register.
For the reception field in Hotel
Clinton, the bride's mother wore
powder blue crepe with navy ac•
cessories, while the groom's -moth-
er wore navy bengaline with yel-
low accessories.
For a wedding trip to Northern
United States, the bride wore a
navy suit with navy and white
straw hat, navy accessories and a
corsage of red roses. Upon their
return, the young couple will re-
side on the groom's farm at Hen-
sall.
Guests were present at the wed-
ding from Sarnia, London, Clarks -
son, Kitchener, and St. Thomas.
Prior to her wedding members
of the staff of the Bank of Mont-
real, where she worked, honoured
Miss Bayley at a miscellaneous
shower held at the home of Miss

Lewis—Bourque
The chapel at RCAF Station,
Clinton, was the setting for the
wedding of Carman, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Philippe Bourque,
Montreal, and Albert Harold
Lewis, son of Mr. arid Mrs. Robert
Lewis, Saltford. The bride was
formerly with the RCAF at Clin-
ton. Father Perusse officiated at
the ceremony held at ten o'clock
Saturday morning, May 17.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a powder blue
suit with navy accessories and
corsage of Johanna Hill roses.
Mrs. Elwin Petrie, Port Albert,
sister of the bridegroom, was
matron of honor. She wore a light
gray suit with navy accessories
and corsage of blue chrysanthe-
mums.
John Plante of RCAF Station,
Clinton, was groomsman.
The wedding breakfast was ser-
ved at the home of the bride-
groom's parents in Saltford. The
bridegroom's mother was gowned
in navy blue with white trim and
white flower corsage. The bride's
mother wore a gray suit with
white accessories and pale green
corsage.
For travelling the bride wore a
yellow topcoat over her suit, After
a wedding trip to St. Catharines,
the couple will reside in Goderich.
Guests were present from Mont-
real, St. Catharines, Port Albert,
and RCAF Station, Clinton.
