Janet Watson, Aylmer, was' at
her home last weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. A; E. Munn and
family, London, visited on Sunday
with Mr. and Mrs. W, V. Dinnin.
Work on Mrs. William Pepper's
new home in the village ,is pro-
gressing. She expects to be able
to move in this fall.
Mr, and Mrs. Alton. Johnson
have returned from their holiday
11 Arizona.' They arrived home
on. Thursday evening, after a trip
lasting two days and two nights,
and crossing through two time
•-zones, They report lovely weather
during their time aw,ay from
Brucefield, but are quite pleased
and happy to be home again. •

Church Service
Mother's Day service will be ob-
served in Brucefield United
Church on Sunday, May 10. It is
• planned to have a mother's choir,
and all mothers of regular choir
members' are urged to come to
'Practice on Thursday evening,
May 7,

Brucefield YPU held its anni-

versary service in the church on
Sunday, May 3. Rev, A. E. Holley,
Exeter, preached the morning ser-
vice, while Rev. A. G, Eagle, Clin-
ton, had charge of the evening
service. A young people's choir
provided special Music. male chor-
uses sung by 14 young men, and
regular choral numbers by the full
choir of 25 voices. In the even-
ing the Clinton Junior Farmers'
Quartette sang twice, and Miss
Shirley Maines sang the solo part
in a choir number. The Bruce -
field 'YPU is a new society, hav-
ing organized only last November,
Already it is a strong union and
is receiving the support of many
young people.

be held at the home of Mrs. W.
M. Aiken, on Tuesday afternoon,

District High School;
To Have New Teachers
SEAF'OP.TH—Frank Allison, of
the staff of Ryerson Institute, To,
route, has been engaged by the
Seaforth District High School
Board to succeed E. Frank Litt,
who will teach next year in Etobi-
coke Collegiate Institute. Another
change in the staff has resulted
with the resignation of Miss Mary
Page, teacher of 'lower school-
English: Miss Rena Fennell, who
earlier had been granted one
year's leave of absence, will be
-replaced by W. Alvin Harding,
Petrolia,

first spring sale of the Western
Ontario Aberdeen Angus Associa-
tion held near Poplar Hill, On-
ar.o, at the Gordon Treharne
farm.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wallis
and family spent Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs, William Addison, Lon-
desboro.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wallis and
family spent Sunday with Mr, and
Mrs. Ed Welsh, Clinton.
Mrs. Edgar Rathwell will be
hostess to the Willing Workers'
Club at her home on the Bayfield

Burns' Ladies' Aid
Mrs. William Bell was appoint-
ed president of Burns Church
Ladies' Aid in place of Mrs. Bert
Allen. who wished to resign.
It was decided to have an auc-
tion baking sale to which all
members are asked to contribute.
An auction basket consisting
chiefly of seeds, bulbs and plants
brought a total of $19,35 for the
Training School Fund, Forty-two
adults,' as well as several children,
were present at `this meeting,
Burns WMS
Mrs, Wesley Roe was hostess to
the Burns Woman's Missionary
Society on Thursday, April 30.
Mrs. Frank MacGregor conducted
the worship service, assisted by
members of her group. Mrs. Wes-
ley Roe gave a reading on Christ-
ian Stewardship. Mrs. Toll and
Mrs. Carter spoke briefly on the
presbyterial conference at Gode-
rich. A contest was conducted by
Mrs. Carter. The May meeting
will,be held at Rev. Gandier's
hom.
