Ladies From Blyth Club
Tlie Mothers' Study Group of
Wesley -Willis United Church met
last Wednesday, April 29, in the
church parlour, Mrs. I+r`ed Miller,
in charge of the program, opened
with a poem entitled "Courage";
everyone sang the hyinn, "Fight
the Good Fight"; and Mrs. Miller
led in prayer. Mrs. L, Haughton
read the scripture, Psalm 48 :1-8.
Minutes were read by Mrs. Wil-
liam Murch, The Group decided
to invite the ladies of ;Blyth
Friendship Club to attend the
May meeting. Mrs. Howard Cur-
rie, Mrs. Percy Livermore and
Mrs, William Murch are members
of the committee in charge of the
afternoon. 1Vlembere of the lunch
committee are Mrs. J, E, Hugill,
Mrs. Free! Miller, Mrs, Dale, Mrs.
D. Fowler, Mrs. L. Haughton, Mrs,
Howard Currie, Mrs, N. W. Tre-
wartha 'rid Mrs, Whiled Jervis.
Continuing the program, Mrs.
Racine, whose husband is station-
ed at FR,AF Station, Clinton, sang bazaar,
two solos, "Ave Maria" in Latin,
and "Glow Waren" in French.
Later she sang in English, "You
Belong To Me", Each of these
selections was unaccompanied.
Articles were read by Mrs, Bill
Murch, "Adrnit You're Not a Per-
fect Parent"; by Mrs. Fred Miller,
"The Perfect Parent is Bad for
the Child", These subjects were
discussed at length, 'Twelve re-
solutions were presented to assist
the members in becoming better.

a hymn, "Onward Christian Sol-
diers", and the repeating of the
Mizpah benediction.
A social half-hour followed, and
lunch was served by Mrs. Wil-
fred Jervis and Mrs. Carter, host-
esses for the day. Mrs, Racine
sang, and Mrs. Dale played en-
joyable piano solos.
CLINTQNIANS WILL MEET

The Clintonian Club will meet
on Wednesday, May 13, at the
home of Mrs. Henry Simian. Roll
call will be answered with the

Mr, and Mrs, Dan Walter spent
Sunday under the parental roof
at Saltford Heights, Goderich,
Bruce Cann, London Road, had
the misfortune to have his foot
crushed while at work at Cent-
ralia.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wallis and
children, Bluewater Highway, vis-
ited .on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.

Dalrymple, has returned to his
home at Nipawin, Sask.

Mrs. Annie Hattin left Sunday
for her home in Dearborn, Mich.,
after spending the past couple of
months with her son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Hattin.

Caryl Draper, members of the
executive of the Clinton Colts • Int-
ermediate Hockey Club attended
the annual meeting of the Ontario
Hockey Association in Toronto on
Saturday.
Miss Dianne Elizabeth Selker
entertained several school friends
and neighbours, celebrating her
seventh birthday, on Saturday af-
ternoon, at the home of her
grandmother, Mrs. Alan Maxwell,
Joseph Street.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Forest have
returned totheir home in Hullett
Township after spending the win-
ter months in Phoenix and Casa
Grande, Arizona, Miss Elizabeth
Rumley, Detroit, Mich., is visiting
with her grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs, Louis Forest.
Mr, and Mrs. C. M. Shearing
and Gail spent the weekend in
Kingston with the former's sister
and husband, Capt. and Mrs. B.
I. Bolster, and also attended the
Spring Ceremonial at the Royal
Military College, where their son
William, is a student.

Murray, Miss Mabel Harvey, Mrs.
David Wilson, Mrs. Lane and Rev.
D. J. Lane attended a song ser-
vice by students of Knox College
and the Presbyterian College,
Montreal, at St. Andrew's Church,
Wingham, on Friday evening last.
Mrs, James Cooper, Mrs. Ro-
bert Scott, Mrs. Ed Farquhar,
Mrs. D, 3. Lane and Mrs. Robert
McKenzie( president), members of
St. Andrew's WMS, heard Miss
McMurchy, a returned missionary
from Vellore, India, at a meeting
held in First Church, Seaforth, on
Monday evening.
Mr. Gordon Cuninghame has re-
turned home, having enjoyed a
year's vacation in British Colum-
bia and southern California, Mr:
and Mrs. Cuninghame returned by
way of i Iontreal where Mrs. Cun-
inghame remained for an extended
visit in the home of her daughter,
that of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E.
Saunders, of that city.
Benson Sutter motored to Pet-
erborough last weekend, and visit-
ed his cousins, Mr, and Mrs, K.
W. Strasser. On his return, he
was accompanied by his grand-
mother, Mrs. Emma Sutter, who
had spent the winter with Mr. and
Mrs, Strasser, and who now will
remain with her son and daugh-
ter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. A.
Sutter.
Mrs, Helen Dalrymple received
the sad news of the death of her
sister, Mrs. Agnes Moir, of Snow-
flake, Manitoba. Mrs. Moir was
in her 88th year and was a dau-
ghter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Elliott Fairbairn, formerly of
Hensall. Mrs. Dalrymple is the
last surviving of seven sisters. She
has two brothers who also sur-
vive, Walter Fairbairn, Hensall,
and John, Winnipeg, Man., out of
a family of 13.
