Mitchell 8—Colts 4
Four unanswered goals in the
third period enabled Mitchell to
hand the Clinton Colts another
loss and sink them deeper in the
league standing, in a game in Clin-
ton Lions Arena Tuesday evening.
The game was very cleanly play-
ed with only seven penalties be-
ing handed out, four to Mitchell
and three to the Colts.
Jim Loader, Mitchell's playing
''coach,' was the best performer on
the ice. He played about fifty
minutes, scoring one goal and as-
sisting in two others. Defensively
his game was almost perfect as he
broke up many Clinton thrusts
and was clearing the puck out of
his own end to perfection.
The brand of hockey was far
from the best with both teams
playing a listless game. The Colts
had a slight edge in territorial
play but once again their lack of
finish around the net cost them
many goals. This must be a con-
stant worry to Coach Bob Draper
as his charges usually have no
trouble in this department.
With Doug Bartliff on the sick
list Coach Draper moved Eddie
Dolmage to centre between Edgar
and McEwan and had Don Strong
working with Hanly and May.
The game was in doubt for the
first two periods with the Colts
leading 2-1 at the end of the first
and the second ending 4-4. Mit-
chell put an end to the uncertain-
ty in the final frame with Fryer
accounting for two and Powell
and Rohfritsch one each. All
through this period the Mitchell
team seemed to have, the jump on
the Colts and they certainly made
the most of every opportunity.
