S.S. and Mission Band Concert
The annual party of the Sunday
School and the Mission Band of
Holmesville United Church was
held in the Sunday School rooms
on Friday afternoon, December 19.
The children enjoyed contests un-
der the direction of Mrs. Jack Yeo
and Mrs. Frank McCullough, and
with Miss Helen Potter at the
piano, a carol sing -song was en-
joyed by all.
Lunch was served and the gifts
distributed from the lighted tree.
Those in charge of the party were
from the Sunday School: Mrs.
Elmer Potter, Mrs. William Nor-
man, Mrs. Harry Cudmore and
"Mrs. E. J. Trewartha, and for the
Mission Band—Mrs. Frank Mc-
Cullough and Mrs. Jack Yeo,
Hohnesville Concert
The annual Christmas concert
of S.S. No. 3, Goderich Township,
(Holmesville School) was held on
Thursday night, December 18. The
school was filled to capacity with
proud parents, friends and relat-
ives to see the pupils perform.
With Rev. M. G. Newton as chair-
man and Miss Ruth Glazier as ac-
companist, the program opened
with "0 Canada." Recitations
were given by Mary Squire, Paul
Cudmore, Jim McCullough and
Douglas Norman.
Iva Glazier, Kenneth Potter and
Dawn Grigg played piano solos,
and Victor Corran and •Donalda
Hale sang vocal solos. A chorus
"There Comes Suzy Snowflake,"
was sung by the entire school,
with Frances McCullough singing
the solo parts. The plays "Out
of the Window is Down," "Santa's
Helpers" and "A Mouse to the Re-
scue" was enjoyed by all. A flag
drill by six girls from Grade 7
and 8 and the reading of "A Visit
from St. Nick" by Mary Helen
Yea to several smaller children
were beautiful.
A square dance "The Irish
WasherWoman" was performed by
eight of the seniors. The program
was rounded out by the singing of
carols by the entire audience.

Burns WMS Meets
The Burns Woman's Missionary
Society held the December meet-
ing, on Thursday, December 18,
at the home of Mrs. Harvey
Taylor.
The Christmas service as found
in the November Missionary
Monthly was followed by the ten
ladies present. It was decided to
ask S.S. 6 and 7. and exchange
the junior and senior Mission
Bank packet during the new year.
S.S. 11 would then receive both
books for their library.
There will be only three
changes in the slate of officers
for the coming year. Group 3
leader, Mrs.• MacGregor; assist-
ant, Mrs. E. Knox; group 2
