TUCKERSMITH
Harbour Park, Goderich, was
the setting of an interesting ev-
ent on Sunday afternoon last when
members of the Crich and Turner
families gathered to celebrate' the
25th Wedding Anniversary of Mr.
and Mrs. John Turner.
After a picnic dinner, complete
with floral decorations and a
specially inscribed cake, Mrs.
Wilmer Wallis presented them
with a set of silver knives and
forks. Although taken completely
by surprise both expressed their
thanks.
Short speeches, appropriate for
the occasion, were made by Mel-
vin Crich, Roy Pepper and Harold
Turner. The latter made special
mention of the fact that although
the Crich and Turner families had
lived as close neighbors for over
one hundred years, the marriage
of Jack Turner and Pearl Crich
on August 31st, 1927, had been the
only marriage between the two
families. He also pointed out the
unique fact that the original
farms, on the 2nd and 3rd Con-
cession of Tuckersmith Township,
taken up by both the pioneer
Crich and Turner families over a
century ago had never been out
of the family name.
