Clinton Colts and Exeter hook-
ed up in, two games during the
past week in what may be a
preview of the first round of the
group playoffs. If this provet
true then the Colts should be a
safe bet for the group finals.
At Clinton
Eddie Dolmage was on the
mound for the Cone in the first
game and was never in serious
trouble until the final inning
When he • had difficulty with his
control. He walked three men,
and allowed two hits which re-
sulted in six runs. He had a
14-run edge at that time and
Manager Bill Craig let him finish
the game. Eddie allowed only
six hits and was backed by a
terrific sixteen-hit attack which
included eight extra base blciws.
Woodcock and Wilson led the
parade, with three hits each; Mc-
Ewan, Patterson and Delmage
were credited with two.
Bud Schoenhals was back in
his familiar spot on first base and
although favouring his injured
ankle played a great game.

The return game on the Exe-
ter diamond saw the Colts win
17-7 behind the seven-hit pitch-
ing of Gordon Stock.
Clinton took a two-run lead in
their half of the first inning,
only to have Exeter score five
runs in return on three hits, two
walks and two Clinton errors.
This deficit seemed to arouse'
the Clinton team and in the third
inning 13 men faced the Exeter
pitchers as they scored nine runs.
Again in the fifth the Colts bat-
ted around with a barrage that
accounted for five more runs.
After the first frame Stock al-
lowed only four hits, two of
which came in the fourth when
Exeter scored their final two
runs.
Bud Schoenhals and Bill Craig
shared the batting honours1 each
had three hits in four trips to
