Miss Beverley Beattie returned
on Sunday after spending a week
with her uncle and aunt, Mr, and
Mrs. 0. B. Moffatt, Bluevale. Dav-
id Beattie is spending this week
with Mr. and Mrs. Moffatt.
G. E, Hall, Miss Evelyn Hall
and Arthur Busfield, Windsor, are
at Thornloe visiting Mrs. Fred
Kirkby. Mrs. Kirkby is Mr. Hall's
twin sister. They celebrated their
77th birthday yesterday, August 6.
Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Deseck vis-
ited in Detroit with the latter's
parents, who flew to Europe last
week for a six weeks' vacation.
Master Steven, who had spent
some time with his grandparents,
returned to Clinton with his par-
ents.
Mr. and Mrs. Albert Meister,
Cincinatti, Ohio; Mrs. William De-
Culver (nee Nettie Ramsey), In-
dianapolis, Ind., visited with the
latter's' brother-in-law and sister,
Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Cantelon. They
also visited other relatives at
Tiverton.
Dorothy and Margaret, Ambler,
Pontiac, Mich., are holidaying with
their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
H. E. Rorke, at their cottage. Rev.
and Mrs. E. C. Rorke, John Paul
and Stephen, Orleans, N.Y., visit-
ed at the Rorke cottage recently
on their way home from a holiday
in Muskoka. Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Rorke, Kary and Helen, Hamilton,
are coming this weekend to the
Rorke cottage.
Mr. L. Swan has returned from
an extended visit in Kitchener, St.
Thomas, Toronto and Harriston.
While in St. Thomas she attended
the Lockwood family reunion
which was held in Pinafore Park.

Mr. W. F. Alexander has pur-
chased the residence of Mr. Rob-
ert Tinney, on Queen Street, and
Mr. and Mrs. Alexander will move
into town in the near future. Mr.
and .Mrs. Tinney 'will take up res-
idence in Exeter where they have
purchased a home.
Flt. Sgt. F. Evans who has been
stationed at the RCAF Station,
Centralia, has been posted to
Goose Bay,and expects to leave
the end of this month. Mrs! Ev-
ans, Maureen and Patty will ac-
company him. They will fly into
Goose Bay , the trip taking eleven
hours.

have returned from a motor trip

They attended the famous Cal-
gary Stampede, Calgary, Alta.,
visited Banff and Lake Louise,
and were as far west as Nelson.
The return trip was by way of
Yellowstone Park, Wyo., and the
Black Hills of South Dakota,
Chicago and Detroit.
Mr. and Mrs. William Murdoch,
Miss Beth Murdoch, Harold Cur-
ran, Hamilton; Miss June Murd-
och and Miss Ruth Sandman,
New York, visited with Mr. and
Mrs. J. R. Murdoch, Stanley
Township, June and Ruth, who are
on vacation, left New York in mid-
July, flying to Oakland, Calif.,
San Francisco, Seattle, and north
to Vancouver, where they were
guests of Dr. and Mrs. A: C. Mur-
doch. Coming home by itrain, they
visited Banff, Lake Louise and
other points of interest, arriving
in Toronto on July 24. They re-
turned to New York by way of
Montreal, after a delightful holi-
day.
