and Mrs. Stewart Middleton.
Mrs. Jack Stirling; Jack Wilson
and son Fergus, Toronto, came
on Wednesday night, to the home
of Mr. and Mrs. James Stirling,
and left Thursday for Manitoba,
accompanied by Mrs. James Stir-
ling. They plan to spend two
weeks with relatives in differ-
ent parts of that province.

latter's mother, Mrs. Harry Zapfe.
Mrs. A. Rohner visited with
her sister, Mrs. William Smith,
Exeter, over Civic Holiday week-
end.
Mr, and Mrs. James Myron,
Ruth and Norma, have returned
to their home at Moose Jaw,
Sask.
Mrs. Harry Dalrymple is in
Stratford General Hospital, where
she underwent an operation on
Tuesday, August-"5.
Mr. and Mr, Clen Christie;
Mr. and Mrs, John Grant, visit-
ed on the holiday weekend in
Kitchener and Midland.
Misses Ina and Ellen May
Scott, London, visited with their
brother and sister-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Ross Scott, at their cot-
tage in Bayfield.
Miss IVIaime Swan and Mrs.
Alice Ham returned from their
trip to the West Coast. They
made the journey from Calgary
to Toronto by air, and• repOrt a
quite enjoyable flight,
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barr, their
daughters, ,Patsy and Jeanne,
and friend Denna. Gregory, Bur-
lington, visited with 'Mr. and
Mrs. William Dinnin last week-
end. Mrs, Barr and the ',children
Scripture lesson and Mrs, Ben
Keyes was in charge of the de-
votional period, and gave the
topic. Roll call was answered by
telling, "Where would you like
to spend your vacation?"
The treasurer's report was giv-
en by Mrs. Hugh F. Berry, and
the offering was received,
Mrs. Berry and Mrs. Robert
Allen offered to take care of the
flowers for the church during
the month of August. Singing
of the Woman's Association hymn,
followed by prayer closed the
meeting,
Group 1, headed by Mrs. Geo-
rge Henderson and Mrs. John
Broadfoot were in charge of the
recreational period and lunch.
Mrs. Henderson sang the lovely
old ' hymn, "Ninety-and nine".
Mrs. Robert Allan conducted two
contests. The delicious lunch
was enjeyed by everyone.
Mrs. W. Scott moved a vote of
thanks to Mrs. Maims for the
pleasant afternoon.
Sunshine Class Picnic
The Sunshine Class Of 1951 and
1952 enjoyed a picnic at the
home of their Sunday School
teacher, Mrs. W. Haugh.
After the games and races all
enjoyed the bounteous picnic sup-
per, on the lawn.

London, spent the weekend at the

guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mc-
Cullough on Tuesday afternoon,
They were accempanied by Mrs,
J. W. Smith and Miss May Jar-
dine, Goderich.
On Friday, August 1, the mem-
bers of the Wilhelmine Mission
Band held a work meeting in the
school, to make fancy candy bask-
ets for their booth at the bazaar
to be held in October. Over 100
baskets were made by the child-
ren, assisted by mothers of some

The death occurred on Satur-
day, August 2, 1952, of Miss
Frances Grierson, sister of Dr.
Robert Grierson, Londesboro, at
the Wingham hospital.
The funeral was Conducted at
the Ball and Mutch funeral home,
Clinton, on Tuesday afternoon,
August 5 and interment .vas
made in,Clinton Cemetery. Both
services were conducted by Rev.
Charles Scott, of l3lyth United
Church,
Miss Grierson" was a school
teacher and taught all her life in
Halifax, N.S. She came to Lon-
desboro to live with her brother
and sister-in-law, at the time of
her retirement,
