Trewartha, Clin- ton, Following a bountiful picnic supper -arranged by Mr. and Mrs. Lorne - Jervis, Mr.. and- Mrs. Jack Merrill and Mrs. Wes Holland, GEORGE ASHTON The death of George Ashton, 74, Goderich, occurred in Clinton Public Hospital, July 3, following a stroke earlier. Mr. Ashton was born in the township of Colborne and had made_ his home in the township the greater part of his life. His remains rested at the Lodge Funeral Home, 'Goderich, where service was ,conducted on Satur- day, July 5, by Rev. R. G. Mac- Millan, of Knox Presbyterian church. Interment was made in Colborne cemetery. Besides his wife, formerly Ada Stevenson, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J. Nash and 1VIrs. James Hill, of London, and Mrs. Seldon Ross of Brucefleld. Five sons also survive, Lorne, of Wind- sor; James, Of London; Robert, Harold and Roy, all of Goderich. MRS. JAMES:AO:WATT • Mrs, James' Phylis) Rouatt died Monday, July 14, at her home, in London, in her 66th year. Born in England, Mrs. Rouatt had been a resident of London. for 22 years. She was a member of the president, Fred Potter, spoke and expressed his pleasure in seeing so many present. COLQUHOUN Critically ill for the past month and ailing for a year William T. Colquhoun died at ;his home in Mitchell on Sunday, July 13, 1952. The body rested at his late home, Mitchell, until Wednesday morning July 16, when it' was re- moved ,to the Heath Funeral Home for service that afternoon concluqed by Rev. E. .G. Dale, minister of Bethed-Munro church, assisted by Rev, G. M. Lamont minister of Knox Presbyterian chnrch, Mitchell. Interment was made in Woodland cemetery, Mitchell, The late Mr. Colquhoun was' born in Hibbert township on June 13, 1871, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Coleuhoun (Mar- garet Moore) and since his mar- riage, to Carrie Leversage, Car- lingford, on February 6, 3,900, had farmed in that township on lot eight, con. two, until moving to Mitchell over five years ago. During his residence in Hibbert he was an active member of Beth- el United church, Munro, serving as an elder for a number of years, He had also been assistant, super-intendent of the Sunday school and president of the Young Peop- le's Society. In Mitchell he was•a member of Main St. United church. Surviving, besides his wife, are two sons, Harold, residing at R.R. 5, Stratford; Kenneth, Mit- chell; two sisters, (Pearl) Mrs. Morton Corless, Clinton; (Laur- en) Mrs. Arnold Hill, Toronto. He was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters.
