OBITUARY
MRS FLORENCE MAGUIRE
Survived by three sons, Am-
brose, Hugh and Edgar, Clinton,
Mrs. Florence Mary Maguire
died in Clinton Public Hospital
on Sunday, July 20, 1952.
Mrs, Maguire was beim. near
Dublin, 76 years ago, and had
made her home in Clinton. for 52
years. She was the former Flor-
ence Mary Pattison.
John J. Maguire, her husband,
predeceased her some years ago.
Mrs. Maguire was an adherent
of 'Wesley-Willis United Church.
Funeral service was conducted
at the Ball and, Mutch funeral
home, Clinton, on Tuesday, July
22, by Rev. R. M. P. Bulteel.
The pallbearers were Frank
Dixon, Clifford Cooper, Frank
McCullough, Hugh Ladd, Seines
Vincent and Percy M.• Brown.
MARY .ELLEN TAMBLYN
Funeral service was conducted
on Wednesday afternoon, July 16,
for Mary Ellen Tamblyn, daugh-
ter of the late John and Grace
Tamblyn, who passed away; Mon-
day, July .1,4, 1952, in her 85th
year.
Pallbearers were Frank Tamb-
lyn, Herbert Pentland, Ira Rap-
son, John Snell, George Pollard
and Joseph Postill.
Miss Tamblyn was a citizen of
the Township of Hullett, and was
born 'at Port Hope, a daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. John Tom-
blyn, who came to Huron County
in 1877.
GEORGE A. JONES
A link with Victoria, B.C.'s his-
toric past was broken here this
week with the death of George A.
Jones, 81, last member of a pion-
eer family of 12, on famed old
Carey Farm, Carey Road.
A resident on the property for
55 years, the pioneer resident
owned and operated part of it as
a dairy farm.
He was born in Clinton, Ont.,
in 1871 and went to Victoria when
he was 17, returning to Clin-
ton after a year, where he mar-
ried.
Four years later he returned
to Victoria with his family to take
up permanent residence.
He was an active member of
Wilkinson Road United Church
for many years and served as an
elder on the church board.
An original member, he con-
tributed to the cost of and helped
in the building of the church.
He is survived by his widow,
Minnie, at home; two daughters,
Mrs. F. Duval_ and Eva Grace;
one son, William John, all of
Victoria and six grandchildren.
Funeral, service was held at
McCall's Funeral Home at 3 p.m.,
Burial was in Royal Oak Burial
Park.
The late Mr. Jones was an uncle
of Mrs. Wm. Biggart of town.
ROBERT E. MILLER
A native of Clinton, Robert E.
Miller, whose home was in Strat-
ford, died in Stratford General
Hospital last Saturday, July 19.
Mr. Miller had been employed
for, some years at the Canadian
National Railways shops, Strat-
ford, and was retired in 1941.
He is survived by his father,
Robert Miller; one sister, 'Miss
Jean Miller, London, and a bro-
ther, Russell, Stratfora.
Funeral service was conducted
from the Heinbuch funeral home,
Stratford, on Tuesday, July 22,
with interment in Clinton ceme-
tery.
