Mrs, H. C. Wilson, Who was in charge, opened the meeting with hymn 562 followed by psalm 699 read in unison. Mrs, Nelson Tre- wartha led in prayer, Minutes of the April meeting were read by Mrs. Percy Liver, more. Mrs. L. Haughten read the Scripture, Proverbs 31, 10-12, 25-35, This was an exception, ally lovely piece of Scripture, Mrs, Elmer Hugill sang "In the Garden." Mrs, Wilson read an article entitled "Susanna Wesley, a Great Mother," and gave a num- ber of points to bear in mind when raising a family'; let Set a good example. The way to teach children to be Christians is to be good Christ- ian yourself, Never deceive your children, 3, Insist upon ob•edience. 4. Avoid scolding; encourage your children as much as possible; exercise patience. 5. Do- things with your child-ren. 6, Have family worship. 7. DO" not gossip, 8. Don't coddle your children. 9. Have good literature in the home and take turns reading aloud. 10,Don't be afraid to apologise to your children if you are wrong, 11, Have family conferences, ' 12. The June meeting will be held at Mrs. William Murch's. Pot-Luck Picnic Mrs. Mae Rance MacKinnon, Clinton, spoke briefly on the Deanery WA. pot-luck picnic to be held at Huron Church Camp, Hayfield, on June 25, and appeal- ed for a shower of books for children, pets, pans, aprons, etc. Mrs. R. M. P. Bulteel moved a vote of thanks to the retiring officers of the Deanery. The in- vitation to hold the fall meeting in Gorrie was accepted. Follow- ing the adjournment those pres- ent enjoyed a cup of tea and social half-hour in the basement. Mrs. M.
