ed, new lighting installed, and
the church re-decorated.

Through the courtesy of the
Public Relations Department, To, ronto Globe and Mail, the film
"Royal Tour of Canada," will be
shown on August 7, under the
Auspices of Bayfield Pioneer Park
Association.

Rev. Peter Renner had charge
of the McKIllop Churches of
Winthrop, - Duff's and Bethel, on
Sunday while Rev. Charles Scott,
Blyth, preached at St. Andrew's,
Bayfield, and Grace, Church,

Tour . Huron College
A party of 44, consisting of the
rector . and members, friends and
several children, of St. James
Church, Middleton, St. John's;
Varna, and Trinity Church, Bay-
field, motored to London on Sun.,
day afternoon to enjoy a tour of
the new Huron College conduct-
ed by the Registrar, Rev. M. B.
Parker. Commencing about three
o'clock, these. present spent about
an hour viewing almost the en-
tire college 'from the beautiful
chapel to the kitchen.

The regular meeting of the WA
of Trinity Church was held at
the home of the president, Mrs.
R. If. F. Gairdner, on Thursday
afternoon last. Rev. H. J. E. Webb
opened with the Litany. Mrs.

The May meeting of the WIVIS
and WA of HohnesvilIe United
Church was held on Tuesday,
May 10, at the home of Mrs. J.
S. MacMath, The WIVIS program
was in charge of Mrs, Bert Lobb,
and opened . with the singing of
"Jesus Shall Reign." Mrs, B. J.
Trewartha read the Scripture
lesson, and Mrs,. W. Yee: gave a
prayer for parents.'` The roll call

The COmmunity Club held its
May meeting on Wednesday last
at the home of Mrs, Donald
Harris.
The president, Mrs. Peter Har-
rison), was in charge of the meet-
ing,' which opened by repeating
the Lord's Prayer in unison. Sec-
retary and • treasurer's reports
were read and adopted. Roll call
was answered by a method of
postponing old age. A gift do-
nated by Mrs. Frank Picot was
won by Mrs. Austin Harris. Read-
ings were given by Mrs. Will
Cox and Mrs. Bill Cox. The af-
ternoon was spent quilting, after
which the hostess served lunch.
The June meeting will be at
the home of Mrs. Will Cox.
Newlywed: Couples Feted
An enjoyable social evening
was held on Friday last in Port-
gr's Hill school in honour of Mr.
and Mrs, Riddell and Mr. and

St. John's Church, Varna, to ar-

in charge, and the singing of the
WA theme song and repeating the
Creed. Mrs. Grigg told that the
Sunday School room had been
re-decorated, and it was decided
to buy new curtains' for the Win-
dows. The meeting closed- with
prayer by the president, Lunch
was served by the hostess, Mrs.

And Mrs. N. Heard.
Mrs. Kellestine, two newlywed
couples. Mr. and Mrs. Riddell
who have recently purcbased the
Stewart Schoenhals farm, were
welcomed to the community and
presented with a trilight lamp.

The evening was spent playing
progressive euchre with high
prizes going to Mrs. Gladys
Sowerby and Austin Harris; low
to Mrs. Liscombe and Jim Cox.
