A program was given which be-
gan with a duet' by Marie and
Lois Dale, "I want to Play House
with You", A sing-song went in
the form of an outline of the
various stages of Margaret's life,
accompanied on the piano by
Mrs. Fred MacGregor. As a little
girl, "Twinkle, Twinkle Little
Star," and "School Days"; Glen
comes courting, "Down by the
Old Mill Stream." Glen (sees
Margaret Home one night, "See-
ing Margaret Home"; Honeymoon,
'She'll be coming around the
Mountain"; Soon Margaret's fav-
orite song was "Cradle Song";
Grandpa Glen tells Grandma
Margaret, "When You and I were
Young, Maggie."
A song by Carol Pepper and
Keith. Taylor, son of Harvey
Taylor, is still in the Sick Child-
ren's Ward of Victgrla hospital,
London, where he is progressing
favourably.
Miss Tena McNaughton, recent-
ly in St. Joseph's Hospital, Lon-
don, is now with her brother-
in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Smille, Hensall,
Mrs. Elsie Forrest, London,
and William McQueen, Toronto,
are visiting with their brother,
and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Arthur McQueen. Mrs. McQueen
is feeling better after serious
nosebleeds suffered last week.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W, Stackhouse
visited in London last week, Mr.
Stackhouse attended the father-
and-son banquet which the Mas,
one held on Friday evening, with
his son, Ellwood Stackhouse, WM,
and his grandson, John. On Sun-
day evening Mr, and Mrs. Stock-

the Battle Mother". Taking part
were Ken Gibbings, bride; Marg-
aret Durham, groom; bridesmaid,
Joyce Grigg; Jack Moore, min-
ister; Donna Fowler, best man;
Barbara Middleton, bride's father.
A short address to Margaret
was read by Jeanne Gibbings,
while Phyllis Hardy played the
wedding march and Eileen
Garret dressed as a bride and
Betty Ann Gibbings, as groom,
followed by Donna, Fowler and
Joyce Grigg carried in a prettily
decorated basket full of presentS,
While Margaret was opening the
presents she was interrupted sev-
eral times by alarm clocks going
off and . she went in search of
other gifts. Margaret' thanked all,
and lunch was served by several
of the girls.

Wins Second Prize
Mrs. Roy Leppington won sec-
ond prize for an entry she made
in The Toronto Star Sewing Con-
test, Group 5, Original, for which
results were announced last week.
The prize was $25, awarded for
workmanship, style and appear-
mice. The pattern was necessarily
original, for entry in this groins.
Working with nylon marquis-
ette, Mrs, Leppington fashioned a
daytime dress with 37 gores in
the skirt, each of which were one
inch at the waist flaring to four
inches at the heinline. The bodice
featured a V-shaped yoke, woven
of narrow strips of the material
placed an iiich apart, leaving
small spaces between each strip.
Finished with short pointed
sleeves, each with two self-cov-
ered buttons, the dress won sec-
ond place in the competition, be-
ing ousted from first by an even-
ing dress stitched by a Japanese
lady of Toronto.
Mrs. Leppington made her first
dress in Holland at the age of
eight, and later followed her
ambition by taking a two-year
course in dressmaking, also in
Holland.
Suffers Accident
Douglas Mcl3eath, only son of
Mr. and Mrs. Walter MeBeath,
suffered an accident while work-
ing with the Bell Telephone Co.
line gang near Palmerston, last
Thursday afternoon. He slipped
and fell on the road under the
dual wheels of the truck loaded
with six poles intended for line
construction. The rear dual wheel
passed over the length of his
body, beginning at the left foot,
over the left leg, the left side
of his body, his left shoulder and
his head. In falling, he flung
his left arm up in front of his
face. He rose and walked away
afterwards, but upon feeling
faint, an ambulance was phoned
for and he was taken to Palmer-
ston hospital.

Goshen WA Meets
The WA held a meeting on
Monday night in the church.
Goshen WMS Meets
Goshen WMS held the May
meeting at the home -of Mrs. Roy
McBride. The president, Mrs. 'l.
Robinson, opened the meeting
with call to warship. Hymn 118
was sung and the Lord's Prayer.
Mrs. Elgin McKinley read the
minutes and the roll call. Cloth-
ing was brought in for a ten-
twelve-year-old Indian girl. An
invitation was received from Zur-
ich Evangelical ladies to come
on the fifth of June.
The devotional part of the pro-
gram was in charge of Mrs. Mel.
Elliott with Mrs. Tom Dinsmore,
Mrs. C. Park and Mrs. Anson Mc-
Kinley assisting. Donald Elliott
sang as a solo, "My Shepherd of
Gallilee." A short prayer was
offered by Mrs. A. McKinley and
hymn 240 was sung.
The reports from Huron Pres-
byterial were given by Mrs. Arn-
old Keyes and Mrs. Jim Keyes.
The meeting closed with hymn
261 and lunch was served by Mrs.
Bob Peck's group.
The June meeting will be in
charge of Mrs. Bob Peck.
