The HSSAA basketball sched-
ule commenced in CDCI gym-
nasium rl'hursday last between
Goderich DCI and. Clinton DCI,
when Clinton won the first two
games but lost the last game.

Clinton Juniors took Goderich
for a ride daring a game which
ended with Clinton 64, Goderich
7. Hartley was the high scorer
for Clinton with 16 points and
Was closely followed by Tebbutt
with 14. Venn was the only one
who scored a basket for Gode-
rich, which countedn two points
for them. The other five points
for Goderich were made in foul
shots.

Clinton Seniors, after seeing
Clinton's other teams defeat God-
erich by such wide margins, be-
came overconfident, but still gave
Goderich a stiff opposition. God-
erich was only four points ahead
of Clinton at half time but ad-
vanced to lead of ten points in
the last part of the game. Clinton
seeing this fought to the finish
when Goderich won by a slim
margin of two points, scored by
Gardner. Clinton's high scorers
were R. Carter with ten and J.
Porter with eight. The final score
of the senior game was Goderich
37, Clinton .35.

in a scheduled WOAA hockey
game in Clinton Lions Arena Sat-
urday night.
The game moved fast from
start to finish with Clinton hav-
ing the best of the play through-
out the game.

Clinton Colts lost 8-5 at Mit-
chell Saturday evening, but they
staged a strong battle with Cen-
tralia RCAF at Exeter Monday
evening and came out with a 5-5
draw which could, easily have
been a victory for the Blue and
White.

Matt Edgar found himself in
the game at Exeter scoring .Clin-
ten's first two goals 'in the initial
stanza.
Centralia came from behind a
two-goal deficit shortly after the
midway mark in the third per-
iod, Mayer and Dibuck combin-
ing for the tallies that tied it up.
Incidentally, . these two players
starred, the former getting two
goals, and the latter two goals
and two assists,

Win Two Games
In Week
Clinton Lions Midgets won two
very important games this past
week in the WOAA Midget series,
Clinton. Midgets 10--Wingham 0
After absorbing a 5144 defeat
in Wingham earlier in the week,
the Midgets overwhelmed Wing-
ham Midgets in the local arena
Friday evening to the tune of
10-0. Clinton scored once in the
first period; three times in the
second and added six in the third.
John Hartley was top scorer
for the Lions with four goals;
Bobbie Garon scored twice; single
counters going to Tommy Coiqu-
houn, Ken, Taylor, Ricky Ellicott
and Jackie Holmes.
Wingham: goal, Storey; Fry,
Hooper, Spielvogel, Lott, Taylor,
Waine, Hayden, Biggs, Lancaster,
Breckenridge, Laidlaw, Nicol,
Lockridge.

Clinton Lions Midgets handed
Seaforth Midgets their first de-
feat of the season in Clinton Lions
Arena Monday evening. This
gives the local midgets a record
of four wins and two losses in
the WOAA Midget group.
The game was exceptionally
fast and hard played, resulting
in numerous penalties being
handed out by Referees John
Nediger and Gerald Holmes; Sea-
forth receiving eight and Clinton
four.
"Rickey" Elliott was Clinton's
top scorer with three goals and
an assist; Bobbie Garon . scored
two; and Tom Colquhoun and
John Hartley had one each.
