Clinton Colts fought -a trern-
enclous uphill battle in Lions
Arena last night and finally won
a ten-minute overtime s-a de-
cision from Milverton in an OHA
Intermediate "B" fixture before
350 fans.
With the count knotted 'at
seven-all in the regulation time,
the teams went out on the ice
far the ten-minute spasm all set
to do or die.
Clinton tallied first in 27 sec-
onds with Draper potting a pass
from Counter on a pretty rush,
and it looked to be In the bag
for the hornetowners.
However, Meyers took a pass
from Charlie Westman in the
Clinton area at 8.12, and fired a
sure one past Billy Tideswell to
even the count once more.
The clincher came on the dot
of nine minutes when Bill Count-
ed weaved in unassisted for the
winning tally.
There really was some terrific
checking in the last few minutes
of the regulation time and all
through the overtime,
Milverton led 3-2 at.,the end of
the first period, and Clinton 5-4
at the end of the second.

To Trowbridge
Londesboro B-A's lost their first
game this season when Trow-
bridge handed them a 8-3 defeat
in ListoWel last Friday night in a
scheduled game in group 1 WOAA
intermediate "B" hockey.
The game moved fast from start
to finish with Trowbridge hav-
ing the best of the play from start
to finish. Graham and Smith
each scored twice for Trowbridge,
whereas Madill, Radford and Tun-
ney scored for the B-A's,

In Rough Game, 11-5
Mitchell Intermediates defeated
Clinton Colts in a rough-and-
tumble hockey match in Clinton
Lions Arena Saturday night to
the tune of 11-5. This was Colts'
third loss in the Intermediate "B"
OHA hockey series;

It was a big night for the
young fry of the community Fri-
day evening last when Clinton
Lions Club held its annual carn-
ival in Lions Arena, with fun
and frolic for all.
Competition was keen and the
costumes were simply deluxe, so
that the judges—C. 0. Martin,
and Misses Anna Pond and June
Fisher—really had their hands.
full to pick the winners. How-
ever, they came up with popular
choices, it would seem; at any
rate, there was. no riot in the rink.
Miss Jean Adams, Clinton, was
adjudged the best adult over 12,
man or woman; she was dressed
as "Queen of the May". Marilyn
Miller was second and Marjorie
Currie third,
The best boy or girl under 12
was Robert Addison, seven, Clin- '
tok with Steve Cooke second,
and Ken Currie third,
The oldest skater on the ice
was that old reliable, J. E. "Cap"
Cook, young at '72, dressed in a
clown's costume, and he had no
near competitors. The youngest
skater on the ice was Borden
McRae, five.

I were: boys under eight—Roger
Cummings, Paul Pickett, Tom
Sharp; bays 12 and under—Hugh
Colquhoun, Bill Edwards; girls 12
and under—Sybil Crossman, Kar-
en Moodie; boys, any age — Ken
Lee, Bev Boyes; girls, any age—
Marie Lee, Kay Sharp.
Prize set aside for "the larg-
est family" was drawn by Hugh.
R. Hawkins; there was no "larg-
est family" on the ice.
The Cornmmittee in charge was
headed by George B. Beattie, first
vice-president of the Lions Club.
Other Lions helped in various
ways.

Thedford-Parkhill Combines in a
WOAA Intermediate "A" contest
played at Parkhill. Harrison,
Hildebrand and E. Nicholson each
performed the hat trick for the

Clinton Juniors lost to Exeter
on Tuesday last in the Exeter
gymnasium, when the score was
Clinton 21—Exeter 46.
T. Jenkins and D. Ladd were
the hard workers for the Clinton
team and were well opposed by
Hicks and MicIdnieton of Exeter.

At the weekend shoot at Kip-
pen Gun Club for championship
crest of Huron County, Bill Kyle,
Kippen, won high honors, nos-
ing out Thomas Sherritt, Hensall,
by one bird.
In third spot four were tied:
Chester Lee, Hensall; A. Gilbert,
Goderich; Jack. Gilbert, Goderich;
Lloyd Vernier, Hensall; with fifth
place going to )3111 Lumby, God-
erich. Shooting from 20 yards,
Hedley Prouse, Goderich, 22;
Chester Lee, 21; T. Sherritt, 21;
Joe McCartney, Seaforth, 21. In
the doubles, John Anderson was
high man. Close to 2,000 targets
were thrown.
