Clinton, who celebrated her 93rd birthday at her home on
King Street last week, and who still is spry and in excel-
lent health and continues 'to read widely. A real native-
born Clintonian, 'Mrs. Jackson's grandfather was William
Rattenbury, founder or the town back in 1835.

Wesley-Willis Choir
Entertained at Manse
The choir of Wesley-Willis
United Church was entertained at
the Manse by Rev. and Mrs. Hugh
C. Wilson and Miss Ruth, fol-
lowing the regular choir practice
on Friday evening last. A very
enjoyable time was spent by all
present participating in games
and contests.
Rev. Mr. Wilson presided for
the election of officers which re-
sulted in the re-election of the
president, R. N. Irwin, and sec-
retary-treasurer, Miss Margaret
Holland. Mr. Wilson also spoke
of the work of the choir and
how much the music had been
enjoyed during the Christmas
season, and expressed his ap-
preciation for the way the choir
had co-operated with him during
the past year.
Mr. Irwin spoke briefly of the
work of Mr. and Mrs. Rennie,
organist and choir leader, and on
behalf of the choir presented
them with a handsome blanket.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Rennie re-
plied suitably, although complet-
ely taken by surprise, and ex-
.pressed their appreciation for
the way that the choir had re-
sponded to their suggestions.
Delicious refreshments, follow-
ed by a short sing-song with Mrs.
Rennie at the piano, rounded out
a very pleasant evening.

Post-Christmas Party
A delightful post-Christmas
party was held at the home of
Mr. and Mks. Benson Sutter on
Thursday evening last when

Installation of officers of On-
tario St. Girls' Club took place
at the December 'meeting.

G. Ralph Foster, who has been
manager of the three local plants
of Canada Packers Limited for a
number of years, has severed his
connection with the firm and has
assumed new duties as general
manager of Berry-Hill Sales Co.,
Inc., St. Thomas, Canadian dist-
ributors of Buckeye poultry
equipment and tobacco curers.
Mrs. Foster and family will
continue to reside in Clinton un-
til the New Year; Mr. Foster
was home for the weekend after
spending a few days at the par-
ent plant in Springfield, Ohio.
Prior to his departure, Mr.
Foster was honoured by business
and community colleagues. Clin-
ton and District Chamber of
Commerce presented him with a
fountain pen.
About 25 friends gathered at

DECKER-BALLANTYNE
Mrs. Cora Vivian Ballantyne,
Victoria, B.C., and Dr. Robert S.
Decker, Edmonton, Alta., were
married Saturday evening, De-
cember 22, 1951, by Rev. Dr. W.
G. Wilson.
After the ceremony, a recep-
tion was held at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. H. Decker, Graham
Ave., Victoria, B.C. Dr. and Mrs.

Regular meeting of the Clinton
Hospital Auxiliary will be held
Monday afternoon, January 7, in
the Council Chamber at three
o'clock.

the balloon for the gifts. Most
of the gifts were of an hilarious
nature, although they did receive
a lovely set of pyrex bowls as
well. Although completely sur-
prised both Harvey and „Lucille
thanked every one for their good
wishes.
Delicious refreshments brought
a very happy evening to a close.

at Hotel Clinton in honour of
Mr. and Mrs. G. R. Foster. This
event was attended by some 30
employees and their wives in-
cluding Mr. and Mrs. F. A. Wigg-
ins, Mr. and. Mrs. L. A. Stephens,
Toronto, and Mr.. and Mrs. D.
M. Maltby, Harriston.
J. H. Grisdale, Assistant Man-
ager of the Clinton Plant, ex-
tended, on behalf of the em-
ployees, their regrets at Mr. and
Mts. Foster's departure and their
hope of continued success and
happiness in their new venture.
Mrs. Foster was presented with
a bouquet of roses on behalf of
the ladies present by Miss Isabel
Pickett.
Clifford Cooper, who has been
with the Company 27 years, pre-
sented Mr. Foster with a mon-
ogrammed brief case on behalf
of the employees.
