I feel it my duty towards H. D. Henderson, as I was re- tiring postmaster in 1872 to give the plain facts of 'the case to the public. At the time of my appointment as, post- master we had no office at Whitechurch. I was given orders to take possession of the property of the Ulster post office, kept by Geo. Forsyth; who died Friday, Nov. 80th and was laid to rest in the Episcopal cemetery, Rev. Mr. Farney officiating. Mr. Forsyth. was born in Roxboroshire, Scotland, and moved with his parents to Galashiols where ho grew up to manhood. He mar- ried Catherine Stewart Who survives him. They emigrated to America 47 years ago and after living in the States for several years they came to Canada. He engaged hu .business iu Goderich for a year, after which he moved to Wroxeter where he resided continuously until his death. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife and '7 children. 14, 1900, sauEVALE. Last January he was appointed Treasurer of the town of Seaforth, but owing to illness ho was not able to attend long to the discharge of his new duties. His death is deeply regretted. sEnroirera. Mr. Colin Bethune, Treasurer of the Town of Seaforth, died at his resi- dence here on Saturday. Mr. Beth- une had been in ill -health for about a year, and confined to his residence for tho,past three months. He was about 04 years of age. His widow, four sons and three daughters survive Min. Mr. Bethune had been in the employ of the Grand. Trunk Railway nearly all his life, Ile commenced with the company in Toronto when quite a young man. Ile afterWards went to Stratford, where he field the position of freight agent for several years.
