Mr. and Mrs. J. H. McHardy, former-
ly of Winghani, left Clinton last week
for their new Home in Nelson, B. C.
Wm. Halliday has been in Chesley for
several days this week looking at the
saw mill in that town with a view to.
purchasing it.
Mr: Adams, of Palmerston, is visiting
with his brother, Jos. Adams this week.
It is 20 years since Mr. Adams last visit-
ed. Wingham.
Mr. S. I. Emerson, of Denver, Col.,
is spending a few days with his sister,
liars. R. Addison. Mr. Emerson has
been in Colorado for twenty years.
Mrs. Frecl Scott, of Ingersoll, was
visiting with her sister, Mrs. John
Adair for a few days this week. Mrs.,
Scott and her father will leave Clinton
this week for Louisanna, where they
intend spending the winter.
Miss Dinsley, of Wingham, is the
guest of Mrs, McMurchie this week.—

sion of the esteem in which you are held
.by the Congregation, It is unnecessary
ht re to enumerate your many virtues as
they thppear to us, ur the many ways in
ta•lut h you have se generously aided in
the. wean, material and spiritual inter-
eets of this Cong elation. Suffice it to
say that we have uthaervad the fact that
yon have never been sparing of your
time or your talents when either were
sought or required in these directions.
\Ve beg of you therefore to accept for
yourself and, Mrs. Gracey this Cabinet
of Silver as expressive of the feelings,.
whieh we have endeavored although
feebly to express. We hope, sir, that
the greatest possible measure of suecess
may attend you in whatever enterprise
you may hereafter becomeidentifted,and
that both yourself and your estimable
wife may long be spared to labor as dili-
gently iu the great work for the Master
in some sister Congregation as you have

Mr, Gracey was taken by snrprise.
He said lie thought the meeting was
just called for the purpose of givinghini-
.self and Mrs. Gracey an opportunity of
saying good-bye to their friends. He
thanked the members of the congrega-
tion for their handsome present. Dr.
Macdonald, M. P.,- Jas. A. Cline, D;
Stewart, Wm. Holmes and John Gray
were called on in turn and all gave short
addresses, in which they spoke of their
long acquaintance with Idr. Gracey and
spoke of his many good qualities. All
the speakers expressed regret at losing,
Mr. Gracey as a member of the congre-
gation and as a citizen of the town. Miss
Ada Cline then favored the audience
with a well rendered vocal solo. The
meeting was brought to a close by the
singing of a hymn and prayer •by Rev..
