were there from Auburn, 'Whitechurch
and Westfield. The evening was spent

time was spent by all.
Rev. Mr. Stone, a missionary among
the Nitinat Indians, of Vaneeuver Is-
land, preached at Westfield 'on Sunday
last, and gave an address on Monday
evening, Mr. Stone is being supported
by the Epworth Leagues of Goderich
district, and he is on a tour through the
county. He gave.a very instructive ad -
1 dress on the Iudians of Vancouver, de-
scribing their mannor of living, dress,
occupations, and superstitions. Mr.
Stone is a very foe speaker and his ad-
dress was both profitable and onteitain-

icle the death of ono of Westfield's most
respected young ladies is the person of
Miss Rachael Reclmoucl. Deceased was .
taken sick last spriu,; with an attaek of 0
the measles, which developed into con-
sumption. She has been gradually sink-
ing until about two weeks ago, when she
suddenly took a change for the worse
and died Thursday afternoon. The fan-
eral took place Saturday morning, pro-
ceeding from the house to the Roman
Catholic church at St. Augustine, where
service was held, after which she was
interred in the R. C. burying ground
Tho family have the sympathy of the
entire community in their sad bereave-
ment.

programme was a lecture delivered by

with her daughter, Mrs. Robert Somers°
of East Wawanosh. At the time of her
death she was living with her son in
London.' The remains were brought to
Blyth, on Monday, and the funeral,
which was largely attended, took place
on Tuesday to the Me:hedist church,
13lyth, and thence to the Uniou cemetery.
Deceased was 82 years of age.
' James Jamieson and Miss Mable Pat-
terson, of the 9th, were maimed in
Lucknow, on Wednesday, 17th.
The tea -meeting held in the Methodist
church, con. 10, on Thauksgiving even-
ing was most unanimously a success.
