A Doctor's Letl'er.
A well known M. P. tells nn amusing
story of an old aunt of his. Being on
one occasion very uervous, she told
her physician site thought Bath would
(lo her good.
"It's very odd," said Dr. W., "but
that's the very thing that I was going
to recommend to you. k will write the
particulars of your case to a very clev-
er pian there, in whose band's you will
be well taken care of."
s The lady. furnished With the letter,
, set off. On arriving at I?:ith, feeling, as
usual, very nervous, sh said to a con-
fidant:
"Long as Dr, Walter has attended
the he has never explained to me what
ails tae. I have a great mind to open
his letter and see wba,t, be has stated
of my 'case to the 13at1l physician."
In vain her friend represented to her
the breath of confidence this would be.
Site opened the letter and read:
Dear Davis—beep the old lady three weeks and

A Profitable Deposit.
I remember the case of an old lady at
E. who usually had from £13.000 to
£15,000 standing to„her credit. and,
needless to say as siie did not ask for
any interest 'thereulann, none was al-
lowed her. The at hnager whenever
she entered the of5ck was always most
particular to step forward and inquire
most tenderly con erning the state of
her health. and if he replied that she
was suffering frorrti a slight cold the
expression upon the man's face grew
quite sad. No wander, when he re-
membered that even a slight cold might
carry off en old laxly who was bantling
his company at east £30t) 0 year.—
