town hall, Wingham, on Monday even-
ing nest, 24th inst,when Dr. Macdonald,
IL P., will deliver an address on the
Prohibition Question and some Local
Questions. AU classes of people are

G. W. Ross spoke in the opera house in

Macdonald, M. P. was the chairman.
What a happy man Sir Charles Tup-
per must be these days. The elections
are won. He has swept every Province.
The Government is overwhelmed, and
nothing remains for frim to do but to
-wait for the Governor-General to send

-Arch. Campbell, M. P. for Kent, who
spoke at the East Huron Liberal con-
vention a few months ago, has been
=nominated by the Liberals of West York
to oppose N. Clarke Wallace ;Mr. Camp-
bell has represented Kent far 14 years.
He is one of the best sten in the Liberal
ranks and we predict that he will defeat
Mr. Wallace in the coming election.
In last Friday's Mail and Empire, an
East Huron elector, signing himself
""Agricola" has put a number of ques-
tions to Dr. Macdonald, M. P., which he
thinks that gentleman should answer.

Adam Geddes, who left Belgrave
some fourteen years ago for the West, is
now visiting with friends in Winghain
and Belgrave.
Thos. Young, township clerk of Erin,
accompanied by Mrs. Young, were visit-
ing with relatives and friends in Wing -
ham this week.
Mrs. ltobt. Collier leaves on Tuesday
nest for Medicine Hat, N, W. T. to join
her husband, who has been in the West
for some months.

Mr. John Agnew left on Tuesday last
to attend the Western School of Medi-
ciuo at London, He is the fifth in that
family to enter the medical profession

Mr. and Mrs. S. Youhill have returned
home from their two months visit with
their sons in Winnipeg. They report
having haat a most delightful visit. We
have to thank Mr. Youhill for a picture
of Hugh John Macdonald.
D. 13, Caibeck, of Woodstock, former-
ly of Wingham, was calling on old
friends in town this week. Mr. Colbeck
has just retnuned from British Columbia
where he has spent the past two years
in the mining business. He was very
successful in his undertaking and made
considerable money.
