Tlzu•, following advice from .en ex-
change should be taken by young men
in this vicinity; "The voters' lists of
towns, villages and towaaships are mostly
all iii the hands of the clerks of the re-
speetive Municipalities now. Is your
nauxe on the list? This question is par-
ticularly applicable to young Yuen.
Every male person of the full age of
meaty -one years should have a vote.
Attend to the platter yourself; don't
leave it to somebody else; if your name
is not on you will now have to appear at
the judge's court of revision; it doesn't
cost anything and it is curtain there will
bo.an election before another list is pre-
pared,"
Saturday Night says; "It is • a spec-
taele for gods and men when a inan who
has been discredited by his own party,
Peremptorily dismissed from the Prem-
iership, bas not since been elected by
anybody, and is presumably held in the
same slight regard by the electorate as
he was by his Ministers, has the temerity
to say that the House of Commons is
wrong, and that he, the leader of the
Senate, to which lie was not elected and
from which ho cannot be expelled, is
right. It might as well be given to me
or to you to say whether the will of the
people's representatives will become law
as that it shall be given tb Sir Mackenzie
lmiowell . The whole thing is a farce..
Sir Mackenzie Bowell in the Senate is
an obstructionist, as he was in 'his own
Government. He is one of those people
who should be taken out somewhere and
lost. I feel the same as he does with
regard to the postage on newspapers, yet
I would consider it a piece of unwarrant-
able impudence and assumption to say
that my opinion shall prevail over that
of the House of Commons, which con-
sists of more than 200 men who, it must
be supposed, are equally intelligent,
honest and patriotic. The thing is out
of order. The outfit has au improper
notion of what it ought to do, what it
ought to be and what it ought to say. It
cannot be forgotten. that the real admin-
istration of this country is and must be
in the hands of those who are elected by
the people. Canada can better afford to
make mistakes than to be hag-ridden by
a few old men who have a notion that
they are the entire push."

THE report of the Commission appoint-

irregularities has been handed in. It
,shows that the result of the election was'
not effected by the misconduct of the
deputy returning officers, and that Mr.

of wrong -doing. It also decides that the
Vest Elgin ballots were burned acci-
dentally, and not with intent to suppress
evidence.
THIS is the growing time for the elec-

year 104,032,659 passengers were carried.
The number of miles run were 29,646,

Importing Seed Wheat.
A meeting of the millers of Western
Ontario was held in Galt last week.
One of the questions considered was that
of improving the quality of the wheat
grown in Ontario, and to this end it was
determined to import a quantity of the
very best winter wheat from Itausas—
one of the best wheat producing states
in the Amorioan Union. Some fifteen
carloads of a variety known as Turkey
Ileo were ordered, which will be distrix
bated among the various millers, and by
thein sold to whoever wants it, for seed,
at net cost. It is said that this variety
approaches the closest of any to Mani-
toba No. 1, hard, and as this produces
the very beet flour made, the expects•
tion is that the farmers will co-operate
with the millers in patting on the
market a more saleable andmore tierviee-
able product.

is in horses. During the eleven months
ending with May euports in this line
were valued at $576,627, or only a little
over half the value of like exports in '98.
In numbers the falling off amounted to
more than half.
