A special meeting of the town cow,. ail was held =Monday evening: Mem- bers all present. The meeting was, eal- led for the purpose. of considering the propriety of snbmitting•a by-law to the ratepayers for the purpose of aiding a table factory by way of a bonus; also to aid a foundry by way of a loan. Mayor Clegg stated that if the council thought it prudent to deal both matters, it would. be tetter to have bill passed at the approaching session of the Legisla- ture, andthen should the bill pass, submit the bylaw to the ratepayers.
