Our administrator Irwin Johnston thanked the group for coming. Then the pupils passed trays of delicious cookies which', 'we enjoyed. These singers were enthusiastic and enjoyed what they were doing. They moved. among the residents shaking hands and wishing all a Merry Christmas. I'm sure the children enjoy- ed this contact with the residents and in return we enjoyed having these young people coming. and bringing their enthusiasm which show- ed the Christmas spirit. A real lesson for our youth which they will not soon forget. Today Saturday, the best news I can relate is that Anna Hoegy returned from University hospital. London. after a stay of about four weeks. Sunday the Primary 'Class of Northside United Church came during their regular class time period and presented the Nativity scene, forus. It was very real as all characters pf the Nativity scene were represented. Leaders of this group are Charlotte McKercher. Shir- ley Laverty, Ruth Townsend, and Judy, Hhmon. This play was done in pantomime with actions but no speaking. Our sincere sympathy goes out to the Aikens family in the loss , of their father Rueben Aikens and Mrs. Aikens is in Ritz Villa Mitchell. Special guests were Mary Sills Townsend . Carols were sung to match the action _ "We Three Kings" Characters' were - The Ang- eis in all in white with wings bordered with tinsel - Nancy Stewart, was the Crooked Tree from which the manger was made and a large baby doll was placed in the manger. This nativity scene im- pressed us very much which made it more real to us. As a treat for us tangerines were passed. A special thanks to the leaders from us all. It is a real training for children to portray the Nativity Scene. BY MABEL TURNBULL Rev , David McKnight of Egmondville United Church took our service with Marilyn McKnight accompanying on her spanish guitar. His topic was on the Wise Men who brought gifts to the Infant Jesus. They brought three gifts, gold for a King. and' Frankincense and Myrrh. The service opened with "Silent Night." Reading: Psalm 23rd, he read it from a modern version, more un- derstandable to the younger people, These songs were sung by David, the shep- herd. "The Living Bible." Most older people who were raised on the, King James version, 1 remember as a young child reciting it to LLD. Wilson vibe was the superintendent of the Sunday School in first Presbyterian Church here. I can see him in my mind eye.
