The junior choir of St.
Peter's Lutheran Church
were out carolling to the
shut-ins on Saturday after-
noon. They were accompan-
ied by Mrs. Hurst and Lois
and Doreen Rennewies. They
returned to the church base-
ment for refreshments and a
social evening.

chancel of St. Peter's Luth-

were front the funeral of
Mrs. Louise Jarmuth.

family of London. From there
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mc-
Cowan visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Larry Miller at Currie.
Mrs. Annie Hoegy„ who
has been a patient for the past
month at University Hospital
in London. has returned to
Kilbarchan Nursing Home at
Seaforth.
Mr. and Mrs. Neil Beuer-
man and boys have moved to
their , new farm in Grey Twp.
We Shall miss them from our
community but wish' them
success in their new home.
Harold and Pearl McCall-
um visited on Sunday with
Larry, Marsha and Randy
Nevers.

There were 14 members
and five visitors present.
Mrs. Miller presided open-
ing %Arita poem. 'The Christ.
mas service of worship was
taken from the "Glad Tid-
ings" with Mrs. Miller, Mrs,
Duncan Scott, Mrs. Gordon
Scott and Mrs. Robert Laing
participating.
Everyone joined, in singing
several Christmas carols. Roll
call was answered with a
Christmas thought. Mrs.'
Miller's topic was a paper on
gifts and giving. followed by
the offering and prayer by
Mrs. Miller. For her special
number, Mrs. Larry Gardiner
introduced her sister Mrs.
Bob Hulley of Winthrop
who was no stranger to
anyone. Marg told everyone
about her 10-week stay at the
clinical investigation unit of
the Toronto General Hospital
explaining what was involved
in the research program.
During the business, some
winter quilting was discuss-
ed, and a motion made to
send some money to the
general fund.

Mrs. Robert Laing had the
study book. summing up our
study on Nepal. with a taped
interview of Mr. and Mrs.
John Bertholet and family.
More Christmas carols
were enjoyed, after which
Mrs. Miller closed the meet-
ing with prayer.
Everyone partook of a
Christmas smorgasbord with
all the trimmings.

Women's Institute, held at
the home .,.of- Mrs. Wm.
Mahon 'on 'Wednesday after-
Mahon an Wednesday eve-
ning, Dec. 16.
Mrs. Lloyd Miller presided
for the opening "Ode'" and,
Mary Stewart Collect. Tollow-
ed with the roll call whit" i was
answered with a meaningful
Christmas memory.
Everyone contributed to
the topic by telling their
increased awareness to prob-
lems of the disabled and
-tiandicapped.
Mrs. Ross McPhail gave
some nutrition hints 'pertain-
ing 'to the festive season.
Mrs.' Carter Kerslake and
Mrs. George Vivian gave a
most interesting demonstra-
tion of the recent quilt course
which they attended, demon-
strating the different tech-
niques and patterns. Mrs.

decided that we have secret
pals for 1982. Everyone

side Nursing Home. and Mats.

afternoon or evening in the
New Year. Although our 4-H
provincial honour girls were
unable to be present• the
