thought that goes into buying
things. But usually no one
many knows,, the decisions
people go through just to find
the right Christmas card.
There is a tot of though
behind sending a Christmas
card, at least, most Christ-
mas cards.
When I was small and in
Idadergerten, most of the
children in the class brought
cards for their friends and
classmates at Christmas
time. This we all thought was
slot of fun, and we continued '
to send Christmas cards to
each other all of the way
through public sclmig and
even now in high school.
Christmas cards meant a
lot to us then. If a certain
Tittle boy sent a mushy
Christmas card to the cute
little blonde with the curly
pigtails, this meant that they
were in love. Or so they
thought. We always picked
our favourite Christmas
cards for our best friends and
were sure to leave a nice one
kw the teacher too. This/was
all a part of the caring that
went into giving the Christ-
Ines cards out.
Way back then our favour-
ke Christmas cards were
ones that had a picture of
Santa Claus, an animal or a
Snowman. Cards that could
pop out when you opened
them or ones with the
dot-to-dot pictures inside
were special as well.-Once all
it was not the end of the
world.
Some people say Christ-
mas cards are a big expense
when sent by mail. But when
you think of it, they really
aren't. The Cost of sending
an envelope with a message
of good wishes, memories,
and a note to say hello is
worth the possible dollar. if
that. People take a lot of
things into consideration
when trying to decide which
Christmas card to send while
standing in the aisle of the
store.
People generally etice the
larger cards first Its nice to
sent a large flashy card to
friend. They will pick it up
and decide whether they like
the design on the ,front of it
first. Then if the front of the
card passes inspection, they
will open it up and read the
verse. Sometimes this verse
is what turns, the person
away from buying a particu-
lar card. Once they read the
verse and approve of it, they
may turn to one last censid-
coition, the price of the card.
It always seems the nicest
cards are always the most
expensive whether they are
large, flashy or even have a.,
nice verse.
The Christmas card one
person might pick up first
might be a cute one with a
picture of little children on
the front, a cute verse but
that same card might cost 90
