"been taken up by fads such
as Second City ,Television's
"-Great White North" epi-
sodes for entertainment.
Seaforth has not missed out.
The expressions "Gidday
(Good day) eh!". "Take off
eh." are not uncommon.
Second City Television was
a popular show to begin with
but when three minutes of
total Canadian viewing was
required, the MacKenzie
brothers were the perfect
answer. They brought more
great success to the show.
All that was required was a
few minutes of the show
with the typical Canadians.
The MacKenzie brothers
are known for their craving
of back. bacon cooked over a
Coleman stove, their toques
and jackets. their brand of
beer (Canadian) and hilar-
ious dialogue. Topics discus-
sed on the show tend to vary
anywhere from how to get
free cases of Molson's Can-
adian to why you shouldn't
put back bacon in a micro-
wave oven.
Like Seaforth isn't the only
place around that watches
those guys eh, like every-
one's taking off eh. and
imitates the MacKenzie
brothers. There are Great,
White North parties. parad-
es, records and songs'. eh.
The Great White North could
quite possibly -become the
country's biggest fad since
mini .skirts.
As far as clothes go,
knickers have become all the
fashion lately. Perhaps man-
ufacturers have run out of
material and have to cut the
length of pants. But more
likely, people are just wear-
ing them because they're
different. Styles., are always
changing but 1 think we'll see
knickers for the next little
while.
Another fad that is starting
to fade out from what it was
in October is the popular
Rubik Cube. The first time

as a bit of a surprise to me.
As I was figuring out how
to get one side all of the same

Well, there are all. sorts of
fads, all of the time. They are
constantly changing just like
differen! songs change on
the radio. These fads will
come back eventually, maybe
in a few decades. Perhaps in
a couple of Jet:tides from
now, the next generations
will find the Great White
North disgusting. Like I
dunno. eh .
Well, that's ii for another
