2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
SA tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
tsp. cinnamon
1 lb. gum drops (omit black ones)
'/2 cup' butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs. well beaten
1 cup milk.
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs.
Combine flour and salt and spices and add
alternately with the milk to the creamed
Mixture. Fold in fruits. Bake at 275 -
oven Baking.'fime for 2 hours.

desired. Makes a nice fruit cake. A prize
winning, recipe.

Method:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Combine
scalded milk, shortening, sugar. salt and
potato. When cool. addthe yeast. Mix and
add eggs. Stir in enough flour to make a
stiff dough. Turn onto flour board and
knead., Place in a greased bowl. Cover, set
in frig. Two 'hours before baking time
shape into buns. Let rise in warm spot
until doubled. Bake in a 425— oven 12 to
15 minutes. Dough will keep a•few days in
frig.
BUTTERSCOTCH SQUARES
'/2 C. butter.
1 C. peanut butter
1 pkg. of butterscotch chips
Mix into a saucepan. Cook over medium
heat till melted. Cool.
Add:
1 C. coconut
3 C. miniature marchmallows
Mix well. place in 8 inch greased square
pad. When conl mark into squares.

1-8 oz. can fruit cocktail
% C. soft butter

1/4 C. cocoanut
1/4 C. red maraschino
1 Tbsp. maraschino cherry juice
Drain fruit, Reserve "AIC. inice. _ chop fruit.
set aside. Cream butter and sugar. beat in
eggoranilla. flour and other dry ingredi-
ents alternately with reserved fruit
cocktail juice and cherrj juice. Add fruit
cocktail last, mix well. Bake in 9"x9"x2"
pan at 350 degrees. 30 to 3,5 min. 'Cool. sift
icing sugar over top and cut.-,

LEMON COCO SQUARES
I C. unsifted All-pu se flour
% C. icing sugar.
'/2 C. margarine
% C. desiccated (fine) coconut
2 eggs
% C. sugar
2 tbsp. lernonjuice.
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Infix flour, icing sugar and margarine
together and press evenly into an 8"
square pan. Bake in a 350 degrees oven 15
or 20 minutes or until, lightly browned.
Sprinkle with coconut. Beat remaining
ingredients together and pour over the
coconut. Bake 20 to 25 minutes longer.
Cool and cut into squares.

1-19 oz. can crushed pineapple.
I box instant pistachio pudding mix
1 C. miniature marshmallows
'/2 C. walnuts
19 oz. container cool whip
Combine pineapple, pudding mix, add
marshmallows and nuts. Fold in cool
whip. Freeze if desired. Take out '/2 hr.
before serving.

1/2 C. milk

Flour to thicken
Have lemon and water-sugar boiling and
pour the batter over it. Bake in moderate
oven.

MACARONI SALAD
pkg: macaroni
1 can (12 oz.) uncheon meat
1 can (16 oz.) peas, carrots drained.
1 onion chopped
3 hard cooked eggs chopped
2 medium dill pickles chopped.
Cook macaroni until tender. Drain well.
Combine all above ingredients and mix
with following.
3 tbsp. salad dressing
1 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. salad oil
I tsp. mince parsley
Serve in a lettuce lined bowl.
