The council niet on Tuesday, of last
week, the Warden in the chair. The
following communications were read,ancl
referred to the Special committee
Prom A. M, Bosebragh, secretary of
the Prisoner's Md. Association. of Oart-
oda, asking the council to petition the
Local Legislature to grant public money
for certain hospital purposes.
Prom. the council of the county of
Victoria, re government control of rail-
ways,

•counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glen-
garry, seeking to have the assessment

porations.
Circular from the Clerk of York coun-
ty, asking this council to send one or
more delegates to attend a " Good
Roads" convention., to be held in Tor-

Letter from. Shaw, solicitor for the

tenance of George Letsou in the Catholic
Industrial scliool, at Toronto. Sent to

Letter from James Stewart, asking
the council to assist Thomas Finn, who
lost his leg, to procure an artificial leg.

Messrs. Jackson and. Wilson, of Sea -
forth, waited on the council in the inter-
est of the Huron Poultry Association.
Referred to the Exeoutive committee to
report to this council.
Report of Gaoler Griffin was presented

Mr. Wm. Moore of Dorchester Tp.,
was ldlled by falling off a wagon iced of
oats.
John Per3' i.s, a prisoner at Cornwall
jail, escaped while the jailer's back was
turned.
Mr. D. F. McWatt, of Barrie has been
appointed Senior judge for Lanibton
County.
