The theme for this week is community helpers. The chil- dren will learn about police- men and firemen and others. The Londesboro Lions have followed one successful fund raising event for the Clinton Public Hospital .Fund with another. After the dance. held on November 7thwhich. together ,,with the proceeds from, a Handmade Quilt donated to the Lions by the Airnwell Unit of the Londesboro U.C.W. raised over x850, the Lions staged. their second Pancake Brunch • last 'Sunday. Everyone in the community appeared to be there . and as, a result an at "Come Alive.. ' The Sunday school and "Come-Alive" programs will be doing a pageant on Dec. 18. Nov49 will be the first advent Sunday. There will be a new candle lit every Sunday until 'Christmas. • Dec. 3 communion will be held during the service at 11 a.m. The table in the bazaar did very well. Special music was a duet by Mrs. Rapson and Mrs. Siemon, accompanied by Mrs. M. Lobb. Mr. and Mrs. Lobb also rendered a duet together. Miss Edith Solo recited the poePn "In Flanders Fields". and at the close of the service Mr. Charles Ross presented a gift to Rev. Yieldingion behalf of the residents in apprecia- tion of all his' years of service to the nursing home. Special thanks also to Mrs. Yielding who was unable to be pre- sent. VARIOUS VISITS — Mrs. Shirley Luther of the Salvation Army visited on Friday afternoon for.sservice of worship and song. Many favenrita hyltina were sung with Mrs: Luther attheptano. Last Monday afternoon a sing sOng washeld with S4ter Wiry LOIS and'Sister goiory of St. James Parish. Sister .Rosary accompanied with her guitar and piano and a most enjoyable hour was spent Mrs. Ruth Noll spent the weekend at her home in Palmerston. Miss Mae Smith of town visited with Miss Isobel Lamble. Mt. James Nolan accomp- anied by Barry Nolan went to , his home for dinner Sunday evening. Also attending were David, Becky. Sharon• and Kathy Young of London. Mr. Nolan enjoyed sharing this time with members of his family. Visiting with Mrs. Cecilina Cardiff was Mrs. De Wep. Mrs. Cassie Nicholson visited with her husband Arthur Nicholson. Church services this week will be conducted by David McKnight of Egmondville United Church.
