On Wed., Nov. 5 the -` Ladies Bible Study will meet at 10:00 a.m. LIONESS The Lioness Club will be holding their Christmas Ba- zaar on Sat., Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Vanastra -Recreation Centre. This year again they will he putting in their Kiddies Corner • where the children can do their Christmas shop- ping unaccompanied , by Mom arid Dad, Aligifts .will be $1.1.50 and under and Christmas wrap- ping ,and gift tags will be provided free..The crafts at this year's bazaar promise to be many and varied from homemade quilts, woodcar- vings. beadwork. macrame, knitting and serving as well as bake tables and food booths. Admission will be: adults 50c, children 25c and pre- schoolers free. Your admis- sion charge will also be your chance on the door prize. Proceeds from this year's bazaar 1vi11 go towards the. Clinton Hospital Fund. • The 'Lioness are also spon- soring a babysitting course fir girls and boys aged 11 years and up. The course will Ilan from Mon.. Nov. 23 to Thurs., Nov. 2b from 7 to &30 p.m. at the Vanastra Recreation Centre. Some of the subjects cov - ered , will be bathing and dressing infants, general child care, first aid., how to handle emergencies, with a written test on the last evening 'of the course. Certi- ficates will be presented to those passing the test. Juice and &nuts will be served each evening. Cost of the course is $3.00. Nov. 28 from 10 to 11 a.m. Swimmers will be collecting pledges from the community based OP the number of lengths they can swim without stop- ping. Proceeds from this swimathon will go towards the purchase of pool equip- ment and a film projector.' Prizes Will be awarded for the most money collected and to participants for swim- ming the most laps. Each participant will re- ceive refreshments for their part in the swimathon. Swimming is no longer just a summer activity but can be enjoyed all year round at the Vana- stra Rec. Centre. Mathers told the grade 7 and 8 students about her adventures as a teacher at King Fisher Lake in Northern Ontario. She showed us pictures and artifacts that the Natives at King Fisher made. Everyone enjoyed the story of the life and culture of the natives that live there and the students would like to thank Miss Mathers for sharing her experiences with them. VISION AND HEARING TESTS On Nov., 2nd and 3rd, nurses from the Huron Coun- ty Health Unit visited our ;school to give vision and hearing tests to several clas- versary on Nov. 22. Evelyn Rhyhard celebrat- ed her 17th birthday on Nov. 15. Dorothy Rhyhard held a bridal shower for Diane Fidon (Rhyhard) on Mon., ses. PUMIS SEE FILM On Mon., Nov. 9th, the grades 4 to 8 watched afilm entitled the Long Silence. It showed people who mourned for their sons and fathers who were killed in the two Great Wars. We should all mourn over the deaths of those who died to keep peace through- out our country. CHURCH SERVICE On Tuesday. Nov. 10th Hullett School held a church- service at the Londesboro United Church. The master of ceremonies was Tom Berdard, the organist was. Mrs. Barb Bosman, the choir director was Mr. Bruce Cook- son and the guest speaker was Mr. G. Harland. Nov. lb. Laurene Perry and Ines Flaro were united in mar- riage on Sun., Nov. 15 at Heather Gardens. Rev. Peter Mantel of St. Thomas per- formed the ceremony. Wreaths were made by each grade and taken to the church by a representative from each class. Hymns were sung and speeches were given about the Great World Wars and the• brave people who died to keep peace in Canada. Thanks to all the grade 8 students who helped to put the Reinebrance Day Service together. REMEMBRANCE DAY - On Wed., Nov. 11th, Hul- lett 'School was closed for Remembrance Day.
